Plug Wires which is which?

My car doesn't start and I am trying to un flood it by removing the bottom spark plugs. I had an rx7club member tell me which coils were which I forgot. I have to reconnect the wires to the correct coils and plugs... Anyone tell me which is which when it comes to the coils. I am not sure if the on by the firewall is the front or top??? Sorry this might be a newish question but I am not that familiar with it. I did search this topic. I did not come up with anything maybe I did not work my search correctly.. Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I have the car jumped onto my grand marquis. I am not sure how to get the drop of oil into each of the bottom plug holes... It is a tight fit for me to even get the plugs in and out. I have fmic intercooling pipes ran right there... Any special way to get a drop of oil in... Can I let it sit over night with out the plugs help dry out the gas... The plugs were soaked with gas I cleaned them off really good with a few peper towels then brushed them off with a metal wire brush... They almost look new....
How many fuel fuses are there? I pulled the egi under the hood I can get the one out under the dash... I have a 1990 gtu with the original rebuilt 6 port with turbo...

Thanks I am going to try my best to get it running today... I will keep you updated as to my luck...

Ok I just got new plugs from auto part store. I got ngk platnium 15 bucks each I also got a piston compression tester kit. I removed the pin.

I am not putting the bottoms in yet I am only putting in the topss because I want to check compression.

Here is my issues...
1 do the plugs have to go all the way in?? They are very tight in there but not all the way in...

2 With th top plugs in and checking for compression do the top two plugs have to have the spark plug wires connected or not connected to check for compression???

Thanks all

The Front coil is the Leading(L)..the coil by the Brakes is TRAILING.

Do not attempt to compression check the car with ANY spark plug wires attached to the Engine!..

Thanks for the good advice UI did not do the compression check I wasn;t sure about the wires...

Ok I was losing light so I decided NOT to check compression. I wasn't sure wires connected on top sparks or not so I didn't do it... I put in bttm plugs after engine was completely de-fludded and guess what... This piece of shit won't start! I still love her though... I am now pissed and I will tell you why... Someone told me pull egi fuse under hood and no pllug on s5 under dash to cut fuel... The person that told me that didntt reply to this thread so my comment is not directed to anyone on here....

Wow a lot of people claim to know alot.. well there is a fuel cut on s5 n/a under dash!!!! I reflooded the engine I think... I lost light and my neighbors were complaining so back at it tomorrow...

Now here the question before I lose it tomorrow...

?Can I just pull the plug under the dash to cut fuel??

my set up 1990 gtu 6 port with added s5 turbo.

Bro, theres no plug under the dash

Anyways, you have a S5, push throttle ALL the way down, also another way to help unflood that my dad found is pull the master brake vaccum line it'll help get extra air in to burn off the gas

I am going to pull the bttm plugs once again tomorrow and crank the $hit out of it to get all the fuel out.. Then check compression with no wires connected to the top... See if I need a new engine in it. If it doesn't need engine then pull plug under dash and see if I can get her running. If it needs an engine I might consider parting it out unless I can get a s5 6port with good compression cheap! If not this car will be parted out so fast it isnt funny..

You won't get good compression out of it right now period. You have washed the rotor housing and possibly gummed up the apex seal grooves by flooding it and letting it sit. You best bet right now is to wait for a fairly warm day, get some oil into the rotor housings, de-flood and then try to get it to fire. Once it fires you will need to hold it at 3000-4000 rpm for at lease a minute, and then you will want to go for about a 15 minute drive to bring it up to temp and run it through the RPM range. This burn out any old fuel that could be gumming up the apex seal grooves. Be prepared that you will fill you neighborhood with smoke when you do this.

What management are you running?

Update

Ok I got up early. I went out side and I pulled the two bottom plugs which I just bought yesterday. The front bottom was completely dry. The rear bottom had one little drop of dark fluid on it. I am guessing it was oil/gas mix.

I have not been able to connect the compression gauge in where the plug goes so I am not going to be able to check compression. I can even turn the damn hose to try to screw it in!

What is the best way I can try to get this started. Under my dash there is a plug there. Will it cut the fuel?
Here is a picturre of the plug!!
http://www.milliondollaralley.ws/site/1990gtu/plug.JPG

Now I un plugged it... Will that cut the fuel pump so I don't have to pull the EGI under the hood? In my old T2"s I used to pull that plug and get the car started only with the plug and just leave the EGI under the hood. Can I do it the same way with this 1990 gtu 6 port turbo?

Okay so why don't you just push the pedal all the way down, also put some ATF in the bottom spark plug holes to build alittle compression

Won't it get flooded if I hold the pedal all the way to the floor and try to start it? I have no oil canteen to get any oil or atf in the bottom holes! Any other method of injecting it in the bottom plugs?

Oh I was tired, forgot to mention on S5's pushing the throttle WOT during startup disables the fuel system :P

Uh, do you have a funnel? It'll spill a bit thats what I used though, don't have too, try the pedal thing first

anyways off to bed for me, gl

Wow I am about to go a wall.... this f*cking piece of sh*t won't start!!!! Anyone who knows what they are doing in my area willing to help out a really frustrated RX7 owner??? Staten Island NY....

MazdaRX7.ws 02-26-09 04:22 PM

I spoke to my mechanic. He told me to pull start it. I have a friend coming over tonight and I am going to try to pull start it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I haven't even gotten to drive this car! The day I get the plates that night I go to start it and I am still trying to get it started!!! Arghhhhhhh...

jake1191 02-26-09 05:37 PM

just have a few friends push you and let the clutch out with the key on and the trans in first. Works for me every time. It is called a compression start or pop start by many people.
