Please help!!!! won't start, white smoke

okay i have a 87 n/a gxl 13b and when it gets warm and i try and start it it won't start but when i press the gas down all the way it gets close to starting but emitts alot of smoke from tailpipe i checked spark and was good i just replaced 2 injectors that were very visible( bad spelling) from passenger side of car with cvu reman. and also did this a couple of other times but eventually started now it will not at all was reading that others had been able to start after sitting over night now could i have done something wrong installing injectors? i checked compression on the 2 right side plugs but ran out of light and time to check left can anyone steer my in the right direction please?

oh forgot to add the compression was good from hand checking did not have tool to correctly check but defintily felt strong and could feel good gust of gas also could hear it spray. . .

have you checked the warm start assist?

J-Rat 06-22-08 09:14 PM

Are you losing coolant by chance?

manslayerx9 06-22-08 09:37 PM

the injectors you replaced are the secondary ones they have nothing to do with starting. the primaries are under the upper intake manifold(uim). try searching for hot start problems and you might find some answers.

Pull the primary injectors and get them cleaned or replaced.

flooding probably....clean the injectors and get back to us

Supa_Smoke 06-23-08 05:28 AM

i am not sure how to check the warm assist and yes i do seem to lose a small amount of coolant and as far as the injectors i will check them later when i get out of work and see after i do that i will let yuou know thank you all ;-)

Loosing coolant and white smoke = bad coolant seals! Start budgeting for a rebuild.

My old RX did this (leak coolant into the combustion chamber) for about a year before it finally wasn't drivable. Get your fuel injectors cleaned and see if this helps.

Supa_Smoke 06-23-08 07:22 PM

okay so i pulled it all apart and replaced the primary injectors with the reman. ones i bought and put into the secondary one of them was pretty rusty other than that they looked okay so i than took the 2 best ones out of the 4 and put them as secondarys i tried starting it and does pretty much same thing but i did also realize after it had gotten to late and i got sick of doing it lol that i did not reconnect the (vaccum line?) or whatever it is back to the part that controls the barrel of the intake to open and close i also did see that the line had already been damaged maybe from me getting into but i think that it was just broken before could that be whole problem? also there was some type of filter within the line not sure if that matters i'm simply trying to better explain what i am speaking of

Supa_Smoke 06-23-08 07:23 PM

oh also it didn't smoke like before but i still think i saw some

Kalidor 07-02-08 08:39 PM

Supa_Smoke 07-03-08 05:38 PM
