Please HELP!! What is the different between 88 and 89 T2 motor?

I have a 88 T2, unfortunately i blown my motor. But i find a 89 T2 jspec motor from LA. I want to know what is the different between 88 and 89 T2 motor? Does the 89 T2 motor fit on my 88 T2? I heard from that guy, he said i have to change couple things, the oil pan, front cover and the oil metering. Is that ture? Please help me out guys. Thanks.

Yep thats true. Do a search. There are a couple little things but you should try to find a s4 motor if u can b/c it will be a much easier swap. Later,

only have to change the front cover and where the knock sensor is located on the intermediate housing as opposed to the front rotor housing on 89-91 motors...

the oil pan can stay no worries on that..

I wouldn't trust a series five block running off a series 4 ECU. That's just me though. Of course I have done a series swap before. Or should I say, I tried to do the swap. Run into compression ratio differences and difference in spark plug placement that the ecu is not aware of.
