Plain & simple: Can you put a NA hood on a TII?!

Like a friend of mine is planning of taking this TII hood off this 87 TII and putting it on his NA, so no problems right. But will his NA hood go right into the TII with no problems, like does it have enough space for the hood to close over the intercooler? We don't care about the TII, so don't worry about our idea of running it with an NA hood.:p:

You would need to relocate the intercooler to the front. There is not enough room under the hood with the stock intercooler.

Nope!! It bolts right up and fits, with the stock IC. My friend has an 88 turbo vert, and for awhile there he was driving with the stock ic with the vert hood.

Ok, this doesn't help, its more confusing now. 50/50 so far, anyone else can vouch for it fitting or not?

go to http://www.cabrio7.org. He has a series 5 turbo motor. Before he had the GReddy intercooler, he used the stock intercooler. It fits. =]

did he have to remove the top cover on the factory IC?

All I know is that the jspec factory IC sits too high for me to close the aluminum hood on my 'vert conversion.

I seem to recall something about the J-spec motor mount being higher on one side??? Icemark, did you use US motor mount or J-spec w/ your conversion?

Jspec, Mazdatrix motor mounts
