pineapple racing turbo gaskets

Turbo gaskets are things that i keep forgetting about in my build. Now that I'm thinking about them, has anyone use the pineapple racing turbo to downpipe graphite gaskets? Do they hold up or not? Im going to buy oem for the turbo to manifold gasket, but would rather not spend $68 on an OEM DP gasket. Also, isnt there supposed to be a gasket that goes under the plate that covers the wastegate?

There is a gasket under the wastegate cover. There is a few studs that go through it to hold on the downpipe, but there is also a few bolts holding the wastegate side of the cover. Keep those bolts intact and you shouldn't have to replace the gasket unless its no good or you want to for piece of mind.

i dont have the gasket at all, the turbo i bought didnt have one, where can i get it at? I havent actually tried mazda yet, but everywhere else doesnt list it at all.

Try Atkins. They can get just about any gasket for the 7. Any issues, just call them. Customer service via telephone has been more than exceptional in my experiences so far.

im not seeing that gasket listed on their site either lol this sucks

I just looked at my knightsports hybrid turbo and there is no gasket there. What I thought was a gasket from memory is actually just where the two parts meet unevenly due to poor design. I'd call Atkins just to make sure.

Sorry.

just got off the phone with atkins, mazda doesnt even list a gasket there. (probably why the guy at mazda is taking 30min+ to get back to me when he said 5) lol. so thats good, one less thing to have to get! has anyone tried the pineapple racing turbo to DP gasket yet?

cshaw07 11-11-11 11:49 AM

just got off the phone with pineapple racing. He told me that with a free flowing exhaust there shouldnt be a problem with their $20 DP gasket at all. He said hes personally used them with out problem. He also told me that if i dont like them/they blow out, i can mail it back and he will credit my the shipping and cost of the part towards a new OEM gasktet. Im sold, pineapple racing it is!

I would recommend the OEM gaskets. In my experience they are of far greater quality than the alternatives and can actually be used several times.

That pineapple racing graphite piece of shit, don't use it. Please. I tried their graphite turbo-to-manifold gasket. It blew out after <1000 miles.

CShaw07, please update us down the road on how this gasket works for you. Obviously the manifold to turbo one doesn't hold up, but it would be nice to know there is an alternative that costs $50 less than the OEM turbo/downpipe gasket.

+1

i have yet to see any other gaskets withstand the abuse for as long as the OEM gaskets. they are pricey but you get what you pay for. as for the wastegate cover, there is no gasket for that area.
