Talk about sexy......
Schweet! Geting ready for a bigger snail?
That is one clean car. Very nice. How much did you pick her up for?
Looks sweet! :) what kind of IC? Was it a kit? How much chassis cutting did you have to do? Piping custom or pre-made? Do you still have your A/C?
Thanks! -Ross |
Nice!
who cares? look at the pics. makes me want to keep my midnight blue N/A and do a turbo swap instead of picking up a T2. wow. (if your car is anything like mine, though, it looks much better in pics). still, daaamn. "i'd hit it." out of spite and jealousy. *whistles* sexy mama. i've made my point.
no under the hood shots ? :D
It is the greddy 24v intercooler the new big one. Ha, yeah you got to cut a few things, I kept the bumper support so had to cut that, few metal brackets, some holes in the frame for the pipes, and the bumper got a nice little trim. It is alot of work, not just a little modification. Would have been alot easier if I threw away the p/s though.
I picked it up for 5500 2 years ago from an older guy, had to put a jspec in it last year. Interior is almost perfect, exterior is good, except for the normal rock chips on the hood and a few dings, but overall it is in real good shape. Yes I still have A/C and p/s too hot in FLorida not to. Ahh only got one engine shot hopefully get more soon. http://members.aol.com/LILDONES/rx74.jpg http://members.aol.com/LILDONES/rx75.jpg Yeah just rolled it out of the garage in these pics. No BOV hooked up. Its on there now. |
how much was them wheels and what sizing?
your car looks TITS, if I could just say one thing though I think your car would look more sleek with out the sunroof visor. I had one on my GXL from Mazda and When I finally took it off I thought it looke 5x better.
Konig sub-zeros they are 17 x 7.5 got them pretty cheap off ebay for like 950 with tires. Just a knock off Racing hart cp-35. Good thing is they are like 16lbs, pretty light and cheaper than Racing harts.
Yeah I want to take it off, but it is so nice opening the sunroof and not hearing all that wind noise specially on the interstate, If i get a new paint job it is gone for sure, its alright there for now. |
thats so nice looking, the colour is fantastic, and that IC sitting up there looks damn sexy. :)
....wow....
Now that's an install!
He keeps the fan, the battery, the AC, & the PS - and it all fits. Amazing.. Here is a thought - The reverse louvers that go in the old IC scoop opening to let out the extra heat. |
that looks better than britney spears in daisy dukes shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!
sucks that you have to lose the foglight
Hell yeah, I thought it was the coolest thing ever 'til I noticed that...
Hope you changed your spark plugs before you did the install, cause they are gonna be a bitch to get at now!
That install is very nice looking. Great job! |
Ahh fog lights only get in the way..hehe yeah it kind of sucked, but now I got some big shinney pipes in their place. It looks real crowed in there but there is some room to get to the plugs (just cant change them till the car is completely cooled off), long skinney hands do help though
where did the IC itself mount to? like where did the brackets and stuff go?
I picked up an older TRUST intercooler, and I'm kinda having trouble figuring out how it bolts up :( . so I was hoping that maybe it's similar to the NEW greddy one, at least how it mounts. oh, and would you happen to have pictures of how you modified teh bumper support? |
Super clean, yet mean. Bangin ride :bigthumb:
how do u change the spark plugs?

Nice car and nice setup! I have the same exact front mount intercooler but only i have an 87 gxl. I had to do a lot of customizing on the front end. I also live in Orlando, FL. Where exactly in Orlando are u located so maybe we can hang out one day and show these ricers around here what this is all about! Around here not many rotary fanatics like to come out and it would be cool to have a crew come along. If you want to talk, my instant messenger is sleeperrx.

yeah it is pvc (or whatever Lowes sells) have had no problem with it yet, but i am also curious. Have had it on there for more than a year with no problems and know many other people using pvc. The intercooler is the one www.rx7store.net sells like 950 i think.
SleeperRx - yeah definately we will have to get up down there. I leave this saturday. I attend UCF, live about a mile from campus. I'll pm you when i get down there. |
ABS is ok... it has a higher temp limit. The pvc at temps your tid will see begins to release gas that is corrosive (sp?) and thats bad inside your engine. It will seem fine outside but is releasing toxic gas at a somewhat low temp.
aps is fine... its what the DIY write up on fc3s.org (i think thats the site) says to use. abs is ok, pvc is bad. |
Cool man! Yeah I live about 15-20 minutes from the UCF campus, by the Hunters Creek area. Good to hear ur response and hope to hear from you soon!

Wow, really nice
wow really nice!
Nice install.
Just a couple questions: Are you still running the stock turbo? What boost levels are you seeing? Does the boost fall off in the upper RPMs due to all that piping? thanks! |
nice, the car is looking all kinds of sexy...
wozzoom - hey running 8 psi without the boost controller - car spools up faster and runs a whole lot better with the FMIC and it doesn't drop any boost up until like 5.5k rpm, but thats just because stock turbo is running out of gas. With boost controller set at 9.5 it sticks there. Havent got it setup completely yet, still need to hit the dyno and tune in my 720s for 10 psi
hey rx74prez... how hot is it out there in orlando? is it any chance like cali? 100 everyday... if so how do you engine temps run with the FMIC? how about with the a/c on?? does it get hot at all sitting at a light? how about when you get on it and its a lil warm... say 90 degrees? thats the only thing im worried about with a FMIC

Excelente!!! I love the rims.
OMFG . That has to be one of the nicest, cleanest FC's I have ever seen!
If you have more, please share :D |
I want this post to stay here forever. That is no doubt the best looking FC I have ever seen. The paint goes perfectly w/ the rims. The whole car is caliente.
Nice car :bigthumb:
that's a sexy car.
Does it have a sex name? |
importboi22 - I am in pensacola right now heading down to Orlando this weekend and is about 90 here ran around with the a/c on no change in temp but I don't have a temp gauge so no telling the temp (yeah i know i need one but I am out of money at the moment and saving for a wideband). I got a friend that put the same FMIC on about a week before me and he said no change in engine temp (he has a gauge)
2nub_2stupid - nah it doesnt really have a name I guess it is just "My Baby" |
only seen like one nicer fc ever. Nothing else comes close this is a clean carthe way an fc should look
Pensacola seems to be home to the S5 FC with Greddy FMIC. Here are some pic of mine. Sorry, no underhood shots yet.
