Anyone have any good pics of silver T2's? I think this is the color I'll be going for if I get the choice when the time comes to get a T2...

Which color silver? There's like 4 of them:


86-88
J5 Artic Silver Metallic
K8 Tornado Silver Metallic

89-92
1F Winning Silver Metallic
3G Shadow Silver Metallic

i rarely see a silver T2 on the road...and i rarely see a FC that is silver...more likely to find a first gen in silver before a FC t2

i've got a silver one...although it does need a new paint job, but not this winter...anyway, when i get a chance i'll take a few quick shots and post it up for you if you'd like...

This guy at mads the other years had one in Winning Silver that was killer.... :drool:

You won't find those on a TII though. They only came in Red, White and Black on S5's

I've got a silver TII also. Paint is in good condition, but the body is very beat up so im going to be repainting it....
I'd love to see some silver FC's with different silvers too, so i can get an idea of what silver im going to use.

Ya whats the FD silver called? I thought of painting my car that color at one point.

That, or one of the lexus silvers. They are very nice!

the FD silver is called Silverstone Metallic, SSM for short.

i don;t have any good pics of mine. i'll get some latter on. i have the other silver. the blueish one. 87 T2 all original. no dents

don't know yet...still breaking in...i have about 50 miles left to go... :D

then i've gotta put my exhaust on...then after another 2k or so i'll have it dyno'd and timed... ;)

Bio, I have never seen that cruising around. Do you drive it daily? .. you ever drive through the north side of town?

thanks guys, i love that color with the black interior, looks sweet! The one with the ssr comps is tyyyt! Now I just have to find one... Or maybe paint one with the FD silver...

thats the color i want to paint my vert... but i think i might be keeping it black... its still undecided

and northside?? are you kidding, i live up there...but then again, i work in the down town area so every morning i head south and every evening i head up north...speaking of which, i haven't seen your ae round town either...and how many miles you got on that new engine now??? ;)

Up too about 750 or so .. I have a small oil leak i am trying to track down. I will fix that this weekend and be back on the road. But right now its parked until i fix that drip. i want perfection :)

I havent drove it much around town at all .. mostly highways 12, 88, 49 that area.

I think its K8 Tornado Silver Metallic or 3G Shadow Silver Metallic.

Seems like all the other ones are "crystal" looking or "off white silver."

Even looking at the paint chips, you can't really tell what the color is until you see it on the car.

i don't believe mine is shadow silver metallic...i took the pic when it was almost dark out and it looks a little dark, but it's nowhere close to the other 3 shadow silver metallic rx7s you labeled...mine is more of a ligher silver, but not like the artic either...i don't know how to describe it since i'm not too good with paint colors and all, but (looking out in the parking lot) it looks like the silver on the acura mdx (starlight silver metallic)...anyway, i'll take another pic of mine today in the light and you can "re-label" it then...

Is it OEM paint. That's an 86-88, so I'm assuming it's been repainted.

OK guys......the car with the SSR Competitions is mine and ther color is Winning Silver Metallic which is color code 1F and was available on 89-90 GXL only in the US market.I think it was a late year addition color for 88, so there are some 88 GXL/GTU in that color too. No US turbos in 1F. The Initial D car is also Winning Silver, but that is in Japan and its been repainted.

looks very good. The more i see silver 2nd gens, the better they look. ANd they already looked good to begin with. :)

not stock paint but it's silver.
