pics - nosebraw or not ??

I can't decide between the nosebraw or not.

While I liked the moonroof windguard, I can't decide on the nosebraw or hatch wind guard.

Can I poll the audience? (phone a friend is out).

Hatch wind guard (generic)

for comparison (obviously it's a spolier).

The bra is a toss up. I wouldn't personally have it on my car but I'm not gonna down anyone for choosing to use it. I'd rather see a 7 with a bra than a beat down front bumper. That hatch wind guard on the other hand is a big loud NO IMO. BTW is that a brake light on the bottom picture's hatch wind gaurd??? Heh

swoop 08-29-01 10:41 PM

Hatch wind gaurd?...........Hell no!!!!
The nosebra?..........Only if you're covering up damage to your bumper. They still sell those things???haven't seen one in the stores since 83 or something like that.

That's my 2 cents...

Kanaida 08-29-01 11:23 PM

imo, both of them look nasty. but then again, I'm the guy with the massive mariah wing. :D I say do what floats your boat. If anything, I'd be okay with the thing over the hatch. the wing would be unique. the bra just looks... well, not cool.
just my .99 cents

I like it either way. The bra is very tasteful and complimentary. If you live in an area where your bumper is susceptible to rock chips like mine is, I'd leave it on.

Just make sure to keep things clean to help avoid under-bra scratches and paint fading. :)

Gorgeous car you've got there, btw.

rx7-rage 08-30-01 03:46 PM

on the hatch thingy, hell no

on the bra, i think it looks ok, but not great. i am planning on getting just the front nose part for my haul between home and college like jmo87 did on his 3rd gen.

CanadianRX7 08-30-01 04:03 PM

i dunno if u can see my bra very good but since my car is dark it blends in good and i like it.
i also have a chipped front end

dre_2ooo 08-30-01 06:52 PM

 HELL NO !!! The hatch thing looks gay as hell!!! as for the bra, mine came with one when i bought it, but i never have it on :) Personally, i wouldnt go with either, but i guess the bra is personal preference. BUT NO HATCH THING!

live4boost 08-30-01 10:59 PM

I think that bra's look good on dark cars if you have a beat bumper like mine. I will take it off when I get a new paint job though.

live4boost 08-30-01 11:06 PM

I don't mean to be too opinionated, but put on a bra, and take off pin stripe. I think that would look pretty smooth. I like the color and wing of your car. Im trying to find a damn TII wing.

Previous owner had one on my car but I took it off - IMO bra's are for breasts, my car doesn't have any hence no bra :D

I say no bra. But a bra would be nice to have when you are going on road trips, keeps the bugs off your nose and protects against rock chips. I just washed my car after a camping trip last weekend and there were a thousand bugs to clean off, and a whole bunch of new chips in the front. By the way anyone know where I can get a decent bra for the front for such trips?

deadof_knight 09-01-01 09:23 AM

bras are ok by me i have one but

you must keep it clean underneath or it will rub dirt in your paint and scratch it i mean it look nice but again depending on which year you have the bra will restrict air to radiator a lil i can see the difference on my temp gauge when i put mine on but i think it look s good i bought the mazda one from a dealer have fun choosen ,i have the sun roof deflector also i love that thing to death :D :D :D

Green 09-02-01 12:46 AM

IMO the bra does more damage than you will get from rocks chipping or anything... when I purchased my 7, it had a bra on.. due to some front end damage (of course, why else put a bra on?)

it put a NICE nasty line in the paint on the hood, ripped off a bunch of paint off the front fascia, and you can see faded VS normal paint on the hood as well...

and that hatch windguard crap, What is that? people pay money for that? That is something I'd put on a civic..

vaughnc 09-02-01 02:41 AM

Yes the windguard and bra do mark the paint. The windguard is a personal favorite as it compliments the car's curves and lines. That's all it does and really has no functional basis.

The full nose bra is sort of a tossup. I think it looks good on red, mica blue, and white rx-7s. The darker colors hide that 2 tone appeal.

There's also the 1 piece mini-bra that goes on the hood's tip between the headlights. That is a good compremise (sp?) between none and the full bra.

I never liked the slotted rear glass cover - but I saw one in person the other day on an GXL and was like "yeah - that looks pretty sweet." Guess I just threw my taste credibility in the toilet huh. :D

I am seriously considering one of the carpeted dash covers and possibly the lexan nose cover. I think if you painted the lexan nose cover it would protect the nose much better than the cloth bra and look good.

Of corse my real quest is to find a decent glass moonroof - and the quest goes on :D
