totallimmortal 03-27-04 11:57 PM

looks just like mine cept mines red, looks base i'm guessing, thats what i have, through on an exhuast an intake i did it and ran a 15.2

Bio-Weapon 03-28-04 12:38 AM

It's a sport, the only other model in 86 to come with 5 lug wheels and suspension besides the GXL. It's not a GXL because it doesnt have a rear wiper, which was standard on the GXL. Also it has a sport spoiler, that should tip you off. :P

Just a tip, if you want to clear those up....take some Mothers Aluminum polish and rub it in. After a couple of applications, they should clear up quite a bit.

Molotovman 03-28-04 09:11 AM

that armorall stuff for interior pieces works well too.

SirCygnus 03-28-04 10:27 AM

or just take em out.

Good call didn't even think about the wheels, same one i got cuase i did a five lug swap

Ryu 03-28-04 12:34 PM

well i was close with the year. very nice FC. i took out the FTP lenses and i think it looks better without em.

CrackHeadMel 03-28-04 01:12 PM

thats damn nice, and that rust doesnt seem to bad, you can fix that or have it done w/o spending a alot

Madrx7racer 03-28-04 01:20 PM

What are your plans for it?

A lot of the times FTPs break when they're taken out. Atleast... 4 times out of 5.

nothing really, at the most intake and exhaust if i ever get enough cash. and im afraid to take the ftps out because i hear the little tabs that hold em in break all the time

also about the rust, its on the passenger side fender as well (though not quite as bad), and bad on the bottom of both front fenders. i dont trust myself at all to fix it myself since i have no experience with that kind of thing, and paying someone to get it fixed is still pretty expensive for me :( . i have a huge list of little meticulous things that bug the hell out of me that i want to get fixed, but hey its been an all season daily driver for 17 years so i guess its in pretty good shape.

thanks for all the compliments! :)

DCmaestro 03-29-04 11:41 AM

I don't mean to jack your thread, but what are the options for fixing the rust spot like you have there? I have almost the exact same spot in the rear driver's fender well. I have been told that the only option is to cut it out and weld in a piece from a new rear quarter panel? Is it possible to do a long term fix without all the cutting and welding?

jon88se 03-29-04 11:47 AM

nope...cut off the same section off a junkyard car and have an experienced body shop remove your rusted piece, weld, grind, primer and paint. it can be done cheaply but that means paint that is not blended to the rest of the car etc...check underneath your car, if the rails and frame is rusted badly then do yourself a favor and get a new car.
