pics (56k go away)
aight, this is the pic comparing the two control arms. the good one, on the left, unfortunately doesnt fit, but u can compare for shape. on the right, is the horribly disfigured part that used to be my control arm. yes, thats aluminum. no, it shouldnt have bent like that, it should have snapped, aluminum is brittle. what can i say, im good.
http://www.nyfishbowl.com/~jeffg/1.jpg a single pic of the broken control arm http://www.nyfishbowl.com/~jeffg/2.jpg a close up of the bottom, u can see where the metal did actualy break, after bending like it did http://www.nyfishbowl.com/~jeffg/3.jpg a close up of the top of the CA, showing the bends/waves in the metal http://www.nyfishbowl.com/~jeffg/4.jpg turns out i dont need a full new swaybar, just the connector to the control arm... http://www.nyfishbowl.com/~jeffg/5.jpg and finally, the rim. the pic doesnt do the damage justice http://www.nyfishbowl.com/~jeffg/6.jpg it doesnt look like there was in fact any frame damage, everything is lining up fine. moral of story: dont slide into curb at 20 mph |

|
