shit you can paint my car if you did that. i'll even triple the price. looks great man.

TitosToy 07-06-06 10:37 PM

you should change your moldings. having s5 bumpers with s4 molding looks kinda tacky to me. but otherwise, great job man. btw, what did you use for $28?

Vagrant02_DRFT 07-06-06 10:51 PM

wow that pretty good!

all in due time.

SonicRaT 07-06-06 10:55 PM

The real question is how does it look in person?

Stanello 07-06-06 10:55 PM

I kinda miss the flat black 10AE. Just kidding, looks great for $28!

just about as good, their are a few tiny spots that need a bit more work.
but everyone who has seen it in person has been impressed by the way it turned out.

Your $28 paint job looks better than my $600+ paint job. What did you use?

rustoleum oil enamel mixed with mineral spirits. foam rollers and brushes, lots of sandpaper and copious amounts of time.

Stanello 07-06-06 11:06 PM

::: Looks at peeling paint on his FC:::

Hmm...

LizardFC 07-06-06 11:07 PM

Haha... you rolled that on??? Wow. I'm surprised you were able to get that kinda gloss out of it. Did you cut and polish the whole thing?

That'll do it. I still haven't finished sanding and buffing mine so I'm hoping it looks better when it's done. Good job with it, I hope it stays nice. If not, you can always blow another 28 bucks and paint it again.

jn2k108 07-06-06 11:27 PM

hmm nice. wanna paint my car?

i still have enough stuff left over to do another car in white for about $7 (just need another quart)
on that note im watching all the local forums for a bad body honda for a dd/beater.

Secondmessiah 07-06-06 11:48 PM

best looking white FC ever

SimplyComplex 07-06-06 11:58 PM

hmm. How do you guys think this would look if you were to just do a touchup job. IE rust spots in the trunk drain area/door dings. Would it be possible? I'm abso-fucking-lutely retarded when it comes to paint.

snowball 07-07-06 12:04 AM

the stock paint is going to be too yellow or faded from whatever color it used to be by now for this to a viable touch up solution in 99% of cars.

SimplyComplex 07-07-06 12:17 AM

Well, I got a crappy maaco paint job about a year ago. It's friggin clean except for a few spots here and there, honestly. Nothing big.

Dcrasta 07-07-06 01:04 AM

They all look good freshy done heheh .. just kidding nice work. Cheaper than Krylon cans.

IaMtHeRuThLeSs1 07-07-06 05:25 AM

WOW, that looks great! You should def. do a write up on how you did this.

that seriously looks freakishly good for a "roll on" job.

TitosToy 07-07-06 05:53 AM

did you use the same paint on the bumpers or did you use something else?

Attila the Fun 07-07-06 06:10 AM

Rollers?

Looks great? What brand and type of roller(s) did you use? Where did you get them?

TIA,

Do a write-up?

Wow, Snowball. You should have done a step by step write-up along the way with pictures. Then we could have all chimed in, some of us with encouragement and some of us could have made fun of you. Then slowly and surely we would all become fans of your hard work and tenacity. We could have also admired your results in real time, offering suggestions to help you get better results.

I bet that sucker would have turned into, say 27 pages or so of pure entertainment and inspiration. Oh, wait, you already did that!!!

Enjoy the thread guys. Snowball took the idea and ran with it.

Great Job Snowball!
