Pic Update Haltech Install
 

i have mounted the sensors and started running the harness
ive found that theres alot to keep in mind when building the harness
as for the sensors they are huge, they require 3/8 npt pipe thread. its scary drilling and tapping the holes for fear that you will crack the aluminum. but it all went well.
i never thought i would put General Motors sensors on my car but thats what you get

i hate doing big projects on my daily driver no car sux

Screeming deals on E6Xs

You could've used the mazda sensors, no? If you spent the time and manually figured out their calibration and set that in the Haltech right? (Just asking, I wouldn't use em either if I had the choice...)

Loving the TPS bracket, never knew how they had worked out those D-shaft TPS's onto the FC tb!

yea i suppose you could use the stock sensors but as we know they suck.
the first tps bracket i built was way too thin so i made the one thats black out of thicker steel
as for the tps you just have to grind the one side into a u
i had to remove the omp lever in order to make the tps work, so i will be premixing unless i can fab up somthing to pull the omp rod
but i am starting to realize that this car is not getting very practical for daily driving so i need to look for a DD

Stock sensors don't suck at all. They are standard sensors, used across MANY Japanese (and some domestic) cars. The TPS is just problematic because many are worn out.

I don't mean to be an ass, but you're a Haltech dealer according to your sig. Should you not have already known that's what Haltech installs generally use?

The haltech will read the stock sensors higher than the actual temp, haltech desiged their system to use GM sensors. When i did my install, I used the GM air temp and reloacted it to an intercooler pipe near the elbow and used the stock coolant sensor because i didn't want to tap the waterpump housing, i plan on changing it out sometime, but its low on my list.

Don't Haltechs allow the use of any sensor so long as you provide a calibration for it? (such as what temp is what voltage, etc?)

^I'm not so sure about the E6 series. Couldn't find any calibration in my software. Don't remember reading about it either.

Might be right...I think I was last looking at an E11 and saw those screens...Not sure offhand on the E6...

Rather sure I did not see any calib. stuff on my E6K software.

i Don't recall seeing any calibration in my E6K...I'll look later. This is his first install. I happen to like the GM sensors...easy to get a hold of here in the states.

yes i know haltech use gm sensors i was just making a coment that i would have never seen my self puting gm sensors untill yesterday

The e6x does not have a calibration feature. tps calibration only. useing other sensors may work, but will not work right. you may be able to get away with a coolant sensor, but you will realy need the air sensor
