phuked steering.....HELP!
 

well, I have an '87 Super Base and it has no power steering in it. I cahnged out both front balljoints and then had it alighned. Well, the steering is loose, there is a lot of play in the steering. It pulls a little to the left. But when I get on uneven road, it dives left and right sometimes. It is freakin scary sometimes. There is no vibrations or tire wear, I adjusted the tierod ends and checked ball joints and all suspension bolts, they are tight. But my steering is still crap. The only thing that I haven't and don't really know how to check is the rack and pinion steering, and the u joints. Could this problem be steering column u joints are loose or what? Oh, and my front end makes a creaking noise when I brake at slower speeds too. and all the pads and bolts on the brakes and fluid are good. I am just lost on this, I would really appreciate some feed back and info to fix. Thanks to anyone who can give me info. Oh, and my springs are not broken, they are fine as well, struts I am not sure about though.:confused: :(

ok, no one has writen or said anything, so i take it that no one has any idea on what the problem might be. I really would like to figure this out. I was told it might be my rack and pinion mount bushings, does this sound right? I am not sure, so input would be greatly appreciated.

I would be looking at (in order)

Struts
suspension bushings
steering knuckle joint/Tie rod connections

The get it aligned on a 4 wheel alignment table.
