perhaps a temp sensor problem?

i got my car to idle at 1000 for a couple of minutes, but then when it gets warmer it drops to 750.... then goes to 500 and back to 750 then when it gets as hot as the motor gets, it dies. it used to not idle at all, so i guess i'm making progress. i'm running out of ideas though

Umm...what have you replaced/adjusted so far?

i've added grounds, my friend adjusted the TPS, went through and made sure there were no vacuum leaks, adjusted the BAC screw, and i think that's it

You can verify if its the thermosensor problem by probing the input voltage at the ECU... Kinda hard to explain, but you gain access to the ECU, then get a multimeter and check the voltage at the ECU pin that the waterthermosensor signal comes in at. I believe its pin 2i, and a warm engine should give a reading of around .500 VDC, according to the world of HAILERS.
