the perfect tire setup
ok, i've got an options speed video from japan, in it there is a bad ass FC that is running a cool tire combo, plus its just bad ass. It beat an NSX, WRX, S2000, and a Sil 80. My question is this. He is running 225/45-16 in front, which i figure even with coilovers and whatever else he's got they can't be on a rim larger than 7". In the rear he's got 255/40-17's, what width rim do you think that is mounted on? has to be at least 8"s right? I'm trying to recreate this setup on my car. The second part to my question, do you think this would be a good setup for everyday driving? Chris

dude 7" is stock rim for turbo, with coil overs you can fit 9" in front and probably a 10" in rear, 9" no prob.
|
You can fit 16x8"'s up front pretty easily with coilovers...
|
what brand coilovers? I've got a set of FD rims that I was going to sell, but if they will fit with coilovers I'll keep them. Chris

Shouldnt FD rims fit without coilovers? They just need spacers, that was my understanding.
|
yes fd rims will fit with spacers only.

i don't know baout 10's in the rears maybe 9.5 i have 9's with 275 40 17 in the back

I dont want to run spacers. I'd have to get longer studs, Last time I ran spacers the lugs wouldn't say tight, plus it would thow off the handling. The front would be wider than the rear. Coilovers would be the best bet, I get better handling and my stylish FD rims :)
What coilovers would you guys recomend? |
