Passenger side window won't go down
 

My passenger side window is stuck in the closed position. I've had problems with the passenger side window regulator for over a year now. It was always very slow in going up. About a month or so ago, I decided not to risk using it since it may have got stuck while open. Now, it shows no signs of life.

Both of my window regulators are the originals with 29+ years of service. I've never serviced either of them. I bought two used (L&R) regulators that look to be in excellent shape. I'm planning on replacing my original regulators with the used ones that I bought.

Any ideas on how I can get my passenger side window half way down so I can get to the bolts that hold the window to the plastic slider?

I'm going to clean and re-grease the replacement regulators before putting everything back together. I found this website regarding FC3 Power Window Rebuild (FC3S Pro v2.0: How To - Power Window Rebuild). I'm going to deviate from this "How-To" write-up by using Honda Genuine Shin-Etsu Grease on the plastic slider track. The write-up says to use silicone spray lube on the beaded cable. Seems to me that the silicone spray lube might be a little too lite and would wear off quickly. I'm just wondering if I should use the Honda silicone grease on the beaded cable too? Any thoughts on this? Is silicone spray lube the best way to go?

yes use the Honda grease on everything! it makes the sunroof work too, its magic stuff.

you might try getting the window down by jumping the wires directly, if not it kind of sucks, you can unbolt the regulator from the door, and use a box wrench...

Yeah, I heard great thinks about the Honda grease, but I've never used the stuff before.

Good suggestion! I might try hooking up a motorcycle battery and see if the motor responds. I'm was thinking maybe the motor brushes bit the dust and that's why it's not working. Yeah, getting up in there with a box wrench would be my last resort. Not looking forward to getting my arms all scraped up, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta to do.

i think you don't want to put it on a sandwich but the honda grease is magic stuff . just smear it on everything rubber, makes the whole car feel solid. it also makes the sunroof work, which is proof enough!

i had a stuck regulator on my last T2, and it was not fun, you may be able to unbolt the motor from the regulator too

Sorta like that Frank's red hot sauce commercial. I put that SH*T (i.e., Honda Genuine Shin-Etsu Grease) on everything! lol!
