The loose inside switch is the clue.
The switch is connected to the key lock by a steel rod with plastic end clips.
The key lock is then connected down to the lock by a similar rod with end clips arrangement.
That vertical rod has come loose.
It's between (15) and (16) in the clip I grabbed from the FSM:

is your door handle a little loose also? Sureshot is absolutely right about the linkage, I've been in those doors a few times. It is possible that the little plastic clip came all the way off, if so, don't worry, its in the bottom of the door. If your door handle is loose at all, now would be the time to tighten that up also. There's like a 10mm or 12mm nut/stud on the door handle you can get to with a socket wrench and an extension. If I remember right, you have to put the window down all the way to tighten one of them, then put the window all the way up to tighten the other. Nice clip and info Sureshot. Rob

I have a similar problem with my drivers side door. I cant unlock it from the inside... I re-connected the linkage that Modified 7 is talking about.( I think I bent it so I cant unlock the door because the rod is now too short) before it wouldnt unlock or lock with the key. It was disconnected on the inside of the door from the other side of the keyhole. YOURS sounds like it disconnected at the other end. the rod has a 90 degree bend at the end and a plastic keeper that clicks onto the rod and keeps it in place. 9 times out of 10 the rod came out of the keeper.
