passenger door not closing easily?

This had started some time ago, but after a long time of the door never being opened it now requires significant force to close and it can't just be thrown shut, you actually have to keep force on it during the whole swing.

it seems as though the locking mechanism in the door isn't working properly. has anyone else come across this problem?

no one else has ever had this happen?

Was the car in an accident?
If it got hit on the door, that would've done it.

Else, you can try and readjust the latch thingy on the sill to see if that'll help...

Latch adjustment, lubricate the latch as well. It should close with very minimal effort.

w00t I might be useful. My daytona had this problem. your hinge pins are worn down. take your door off and replace them and it should shut and open fine. maybe. In any case take your door apart and look inside to see if anything is up with it. I got a pretty good thought that its the pins though. Does your door seem to be able to move up and down when its open?

the guy above me is right shoot some lub in the latch its your best bet for doing first.

the hinges are fine, i'm pretty sure it's the little C shaped rolling lock that's in the door. the U latch in the door jamb is centered and tight. my drivers door does it every onece in a while too.
