Parts suggestion
 

Anyone know of a good dual exhaust for a 1986 N/T? Maybe something with a moderate tone, due to the fact I am hopefully installing a header.

One more; Who makes a four wheel brake kit? (rotors, lines, & calipers?)

true dual exhaust will not be quiet... go with racing beat they are quite afordable for the dual exhaust setup!

True duals aren't loud at all - especially when compared with something like, oh I dunno, a Corksport exhaust.

The setup on my old car. It's not *loud* at all. A moderate increase to stock, I'd say.

Stock-sounding when you want to cruise, no droning, yet loud enough to get noticed, if you so desire.

I'm actually parting out my system, I still have all of it except for the Y-pipe, if you are interested.

Rqacing Beat makes a really nice exhaust, sounds great without being too loud, but it's a bunch louder than stock. I think it's a really good compromise in that respect.

There's no 4 wheel BBK, besides, you don't need one, the stock brakes are fine even for racing when they have the right pads and fluid and they're in good condition. If you're not getting the braking performance you want, fix the problem. Also, if you can lock the tires, and fade isn't an issue, then there's no need, save your $$$.

If you want bigger brakes anyway, get a front brake kit and put the front stock brakes on the back. Some fabricating will need to be done, but nothing huge. Personally, all I ever hear about on this site is Racing Beat this, Racing Beat that. I'd have to say that RB is the way to go with all around performance and tone. I'm getting a racing beat header, self made 2.5 true duals to Apex'i N1 mufflers. I like loud.

I got full racing beat system (header,pipes muffs) and hi flow cat, I hate it! Racing beat muffs dont sound high performance at all , racing beat set up is for someone who wants a dull quiet sound and not much depth or diffirence in the rpm band. Sounds the same thru the whole rpm range they suck

Who else makes a dual exhaust? I think the RB sounds alright, but Im willing to go a little louder than that :) The RB is a little too mellow. I dont want something that is so high pitched it hurts at normal driving. I want something with some umph to it.

As for brakes, what pads would you recommend for spirited street/light track use?

Hawk HP+ are good bang for the buck

For street and track I reccomend 2 sets of pads. Dual duty pads are ok in some circumstances, like when you're first learning, when on tracks that are easy on brakes and so on, but you'll quickly get to the point where they're no longer sufficient. HP+'s are a reasonable compromise, but won't stand up to serious track abuse, nothing but a full race pad will. Changing pads isn't that hard to do, it's a safety thing, don't skimp. Also, make sure to use high temp brake fluid at the track.

Would I have to get something similar to this used? Im looking for something with tips instead of a "can" like hks, apexi, etc.

I have the Racing Beat set up (Header, cat rep, mufflers). It sounds excellent, and gives good power gains. It is my 2nd exhaust system from them (had one for my 12A 1st gen also) and have been really happy with the results and gains from their products.
