is this okay to be off my car? im under the impression that it is the air pump hose,
the enterance from the engine to this hose is open, as seen in picture... as well as the metal tube that comes off the converter.... let me know if shes okay to be off.... and leave off.. This is the part that fell off https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=163010&stc=1 This is whats left https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=163011&stc=1 thanks guys, let me know 88Durel |
Split air pipe. It can be left off. But it looks like you have an S4. That pipe in stock form controls the 5th/6th ports opening. I.E. your car will be slower.

i dont really understand how it would control the ports....
is there a way i can wire them up to open with an rpm timer? or wire them open all the time... can someone post the thread with instructions.. its a 1988 rx7 gxl 5spd N/A that would make it an FC4 or FC3? thanks 88Durel |
It uses the back pressure to open the 5th 6th ports. Yes, you can wire your actuators open using wire... You grab the actuator, and wire it open....

can someone tell me what the aculator looks like?

Some fix the 5th/6th ports, some have used the air pump, and some have used an RPM switch. All have pros and cons. All RX-7s with your body style are FC3. 86-88 is S4, and 89-91 is S5. Slight trim and engine differences. All this info can be found in the stickies and the search function. https://www.rx7club.com/search.php?searchid=1728262 |

If the pipe is actually broken, they can be had for not too much at a junk yard. I got mine for 40, and I think he jacked the price up. |
