Parallel Fuel mod
I've got all the parts I need for this mod, however, I have a question about the 14mm-1.5 adapter. The package says it's a power steering adapter and has a tiny O-ring on the end that will go into the fuel rail. I'm going to assume that I pull that off. The next problem is that the outlet of the fitting is a lot smaller than the inlet. It looks like it could cause a restriction. Am I suppose to bore it out? I've included a few pictures of this fitting. Tell me what you think.

What are you cooking? I see 1/4 teaspoon of salt, preheat oven to 350, and 3lbs of beef tenderloin:yum: |
How do you plan on using the an fitting on the fuel rails? Do u have custom rails? Do u have s4 or s5 rails? I have heard that s4 rails that then ends unscrew allowing you to screw in an fittings or tap for whatever size you want. I have just decided to go custom rails, as my injectors won't fit anyhow(1600cc). But I still wanna use the fitting on my primary rail also...So what are your plans?
Oh yeah, that might be helpful. It's an S4 fuel rail. My current plan is to install these fuel lines, run a walbro and the stock 550's. Once that's setup and working right, I'm going to proceed to a haltech E11 and start tuning. Then, eventually, I'm going to step up to 1600cc's and prepare for the T04.
All these fittings should thread right into the S4 rail. |
To answer the other post. We were cooking a Beef tenderloin with horseradish and roasted garlic crust. It was good :)
Does anyone know if s4 t2 and n/a rails have any differences? I have an s4 n/a rail, will that work on my s5? Save me some $$$. It should bolt right in right?
I just drilled that fitting out to the full input diameter. Its fine.
that's what I figured. I taking it to our machine shop tomorrow. Need a bit that's larger than a 1/4" but smaller than 5/16" I need one that's .295" :)
i just did that mod for my 87TII. I have 1600cc and i have to have mine customized. I ordered my fittings from Earl's here in LA and lines i had made at a specialty aviation hardware store. THis mod is very expensive. If you go to RETED's site his got all those things listed. .Earl's sell fittings that goes from metric to AN.
How much did the custom rail cost you fcturbo2?
100 bucks.
Yes, I just did this mod as well.
I drilled that adapter to the full inner diameter as suggested earlier. On all the AN to metric adapters I used a small o-ring inside a crush washer to seal the adapters against the piece it was going into. This really helped center the slightly oversized crush washers and the o-ring fit into the champhers of the piece the adapter was going into. I got the idea for this when I saw Rob at Pineapple had done this for the engines rear oil cooler hose adapter. I set the fuel pressure to 100PSI and sniffed around for leaks- none yet... |
Cool.

I got a question:
So this is basically 2 T2 pumps running in parallel? Can I do this with stock injectors or 720's? |
No, there is still just one pump. All this does is allows each fuel rail to get good pressure and eliminates all the banjo fittings and the pulsation damper..whoohoo. Go here and check it out http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/MODS/FUEL/fpr.htm
Well... Could you do what I just described?
Yeah, you could if you wanted to. I think soul ran 2 in tank that fed one line going up front. It would kind of suck to have a seperate fuel pump for each rail and have one pump die. You'd be SOL.
Well.. redundancy? I figure it would be cheaper to buy a T2 pump than a walbro, and the 2 t2's would probably put out about the same, right? What about having them join before the fuel line? could that be done?
That's what you'd do. Mount both of them on the stock bracket in the tank. Then get a brass Y with nipples on all 3 ends to plumb the 2 together but only have 1 outlet. This single outlet would clamp to the stock tank outlet on the top of the fuel tank. You'd then have to splice into the wiring such that they both get power.
