Okay, I'm preparing to get a s5 13bt performance rebuild from pineapple racing with large streetport and stage 3 upgrades, the whole shabang. But my question lies with the clutch. I currently have the steel lightweight racing beat flywheel with an ACT clutch and pressure plate. Flywheel is completely brand new and the clutch and p plate have like 5k miles on them. I'm looking at the Exedy Twin Plate clutch system. Does anyone have this clutch? Comments? Too much? I'm looking at eventually 400rwhp in the future.

IIRC the exedy twin plate has its own flywheel.

I know it has it's own flywheel. It's a whole set with the counterweight. MMMM.... It's good times. So, should I make it a goal to sell my flywheel and cluch set and get this set instead?

Well.... just consider that every clutch job is going to cost you ~$1500 from now on, if you get it :D

That depends on your driving...

I would assume that a twin-plate lasts just as long as a normal clutch.

Of course, 1500 is probably a slight exaggeration, since they sell pressure plates and discs seperately, but it would still cost more than a simple high-preformance single disc clutch (although you get more holding power for the same pedal effort with a twin-plate).

mmmm..... Pretty much from what I understand from the twin plate is that I'm getting lots of clamping pressure but it also engages easily making it easy to drive as an daily driver like a single organic disc. What do you all think I should go with? Considering 1500 for this clutch system isn't a problem?

I have an OS Giken twin disk in my car now. Before it had an ACT Extreme pressure plate, that thing would kill your leg in stop and go traffic. I changed it out when it broke the pivot in the bell housing. The rebuild kit for the OS twin disk was $900 delivered to my door, that was two years ago. Compared to the ACT the OS effort to push the clutch pedal in is the same as a stock clutch. But being unsprung the clutch engagement is a little off and on, but I have gotten use to it. The motor has a little over 400 hp and you cannot get it to slip.
