Overheating under strange circumstances last night...
 

Hello everyone. My overheating problem has unfortunately yet inevitably returned. I am almost certain that my coolant seals are blown and somehow that was causing my motor to overheat (burning off coolant, pushing coolant into the overflow tank, too much heat transfer because of leaking exahust gas). Some Bar's StopLeak temporarily fixed that problem, but just last night I had another overheat, but there was something kinda weird about it actually:

The needle rose up to the H pretty quickly (within probably 30 seconds), but when I stopped and popped my hood, there was no activity in my overflow bottle... no bubbling, no steaming, no spourting, no overflowing. There was coolant in there, but it was just sitting there (it wasnt hot either). The main coolant line to the radiator was very hot and I could tlel from squeezing it that there was a lot of pressure in the system.

So, does anyone know what might be causing this? I dont think it is becasue there wasnt enough antifreeze... it has gotten pretty hot on almost pure water before, but then it was shooting steam into the overflow tank... this time, nothing. And I know a teltale sign of blown coolant seals is a lot of bubbles into the overflow tank, so I am confused! Any ideas?

My experience with barsleakstop/prestoneseal....and all the other coolant leak stoppers: They cause clogging; especially clogging of the radiator/small coolant hoses/radiator cap pressure release and anywhere possible. The hose spring(water pump vacuum side) will also have crud coating. The products cause more problems than good. You are suffering an overheating problem. If caused by engine coolant seals, you have no choice but getting a rebuild. If it is not the seals, then you have no choice but to check/test/replace everything related to engine cooling.
