ordering wheels/tires

im ordering wheels and tires right now, im getting bronze 5zigen fno1r-c's 17x8 and 17x9, 225-45 front, what my question is, should i get 255 or 265 or 275 for the back

ilike2eatricers 06-11-04 10:21 PM

I have the exact same size rims and went to 255s in the rear. What offsets are you using BTW?

gxlspeeder 06-11-04 10:25 PM

+15 rear +25 front

gxlspeeder 06-11-04 10:49 PM

bump, if anybody could answer this quickly that would be awesome!!! my shopping cart on www.tires.com is almost full and waiting on two more tires

chris_stampe 06-11-04 11:33 PM

I think you can get 275 40s on that, but not sure about rubbage. can deffinitly fit them on the rims though. Wait for someone to confirm this.. might wanna post in the rims/tires section.

gxlspeeder 06-11-04 11:48 PM

thanks, ive heard that 275's will fit, but im kinda iffy on that, i don't want them sticking out of the fenders or rubbing at all

gxlspeeder 06-12-04 12:23 AM

ok i did some researching, and now im thinking a 17x9 +15mm offset would stick outside of the fender well.
im not sure of this though so more help is needed!!!

gxlspeeder 06-12-04 01:04 AM

ok i got tired of waiting so i went with 5zigen fno1r-c's bronze
front- 17x8 +25mm offset 225-45-zr17 falken gr beta
rear - 17x9 +15mm offset 265-40-zr17 falken gr beta
when they get here i'll post how they fit along with pictures

gxlspeeder 06-12-04 08:24 PM

i would still like to know if anyone has any experiance with a 17x9 with low offset around 10-20mm with big tires, 255, 265, 275.

ilike2eatricers 06-12-04 08:43 PM

I used +40 offset. For a 17x9 most people will recommend something between 35-40 I believe.

gxlspeeder 06-12-04 08:45 PM

shit, so do you think they'll stick out a lot?

evileagle 06-12-04 08:50 PM

haha, dude, I have those SAME wheels in hyper black and I have em in 17x8 +25 front and 17X9 +35 in the back and I have 225/45 front and 255/45 in the back. The front is just a liiiiiittle bit past the fender and the back is just a little bit past as well.

I think you might have some major issues with them sticking out.

ilike2eatricers 06-12-04 09:27 PM

Yea you may have to roll your fenders or you will rub. I have 17x8 +35 and 17x9 +40.

-FD-in-FC- 06-12-04 10:21 PM

ummm

if you want a flush look go with the +15

i am going to go with the
17x9 +15 in front and17x10 +12 in rear

hopping to strech 215 on the front and 225 to 235 on the rear

gxlspeeder 06-13-04 12:45 AM

so it will be flush? or rubbing? or sticking way the hell out there?

evileagle 06-13-04 01:54 AM

mine are just about flush, actually a little farther out past the fender, not enough to look bad though.

I have no clearance problems front or back, it works fine.

17x8 +25 front with 225/45/17
17x9 +35 rear with 255/45/17

In the rear with your setup it is gonna stick out quite a bit, but you won' t have any rubbing problems, in the front you're right on the money.

gxlspeeder 06-13-04 01:57 AM

shit, i really wish they made the bronze rims in +35

would 20 mm really be that bad,

............. <--- aproximatly 20mm

evileagle 06-13-04 01:59 AM

shouldn't be too bad, might even look good, I'd have to see it on the car though.
