IIRC, the pinapple sleves are prone to failure, there was a thread by rotaryressurection a while back on that one

I think "prone to failure" is a little strong wording. Yes, there have been a handful of cases where the insert has become detatched, causing engine failure. There has also been many others who have used them for a long time with no ill effects (Including me, on 2 engines). I definately agree that it is an issue that a person wants to look into , and maybe modify the sleeve in a way that the inserts cannot detach (tack weld, screw in, loc-tite, etc..)

If you mail your sleves to them , Pinapple will install them using loctite and then they 'ding' the housing to keep the peice in. This is all free.

But you should still read up on this.
