Opinions on these wheels... (please) (PICS)

...just searching for opinions on the wheels in the pic that I've attached.
They're 17" x 7.5" Mille Miglia Spiders with Sumitomo tires (205/50/17). (75% tread left). A buddy of mine is selling them, and I've never heard anything (good or bad) about either the wheels or the tires.
Also... he says they'll fit my car, but I haven't checked that out either... anyone know?!?... The wheel bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5".
Thanks in advance.

EDIT... sorry... the car is an '86 GXL (dark grey)

From what I know about second gen rx-7's their bolt pattern is a 4 lug. Those wheels look like a 5 lug.
If yours is a 4 lug, then they will not fit your car

blu_gxl 03-27-02 10:01 AM

it's a gxl they have 5 lug what car did they come off of b4? the off set has to be correct or it's not going to fit. as for the look eh they are in good condition and look pretty good just not my style and it looks like you'll need some more tires soon.

Mille Miglias are pretty heavy I think.

I could be wrong, but I think they are more designed for looks and less so for weight. Less rolling resistance = :cuddle:

Not all second gen RX-7s are 4 lug. I think all GXL's have 5 lug.

Only the 86-88 base, luxury, and SE models were 4 lug. All others were 5 lug.

I dunno about weight and all, but I have personally seen those wheels on an FC and they look DAMN GOOD. like everybody else has stated check the offset and bolt pattern first, never even heard of the tires though

jimmyv13 03-27-02 10:59 AM

Put them on your car to check if they fit and see if you like them, then go from there. If he's a buddy of yours, he shouldn't mind you trying them on your car before you buy them.

rico05 03-27-02 11:16 AM

Not too bad. Look heavy though.

XLR8 03-27-02 11:58 AM

There's only one way to find out if they fit. Not my style but at least their in good shape.

ponykiller 03-27-02 12:15 PM

If he is your friend, then he should let you just pop them on your car and see if the fit/look nice. I do not really care for the style, but whatever you want on your car is cool.

They look similar to the 91 coupe wheels. Wouldn't look bad. But wouldn't go on my car.

Really hard to make out the tread pattern in that picture, but they could be these.

I think .. ONLY the SE model comes 4 lug.. I've never seen a 2nd EXECPT an SE.

Juan 03-27-02 04:56 PM

my old SE (see sig :( ) has 4 lugs. Taranis, maybe the previous owner did the 5lug conversion. From what I know every single SE has 4 lugs. One more thing, how did this turn into a "What cars come with 4 and 5 lugs?" discussion?
