Open diff to LSD possible?

I have an S4 NA open diff and have found S4 GXL clutch LSD internals available at a good price. Based on https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/fc-lsd-thread-894774/ the feedback seems as if they would be a straight swap. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Does the swap have to be into another NA LSD housing?

It's a straight forward swap. Just swap carriers, and readjust the the backlash and bearing preload.

No issues with swapping S5 and S4 rear ends. However, your AT driveshaft will not mate to a MT rear end companion flange. You'll also need to swap companion flanges, but doing so will likely alter the pinion shaft preload. To do this correctly, you'll need to install a new pinion shaft collapsible collar and re-torque the companion flange nut until the proper pinion preload is obtained. Alternatively, you could have a driveshaft shop fab up a custom AT driveshaft that will mate with a MT companion flange.
