OMP vacuum spider "Spliter Block"
 

I have spent most of today going from one auto parts supplier to the next.
I need to find a replacement four into one splitter block for the vacuum source to the oil injectors since mine was baked and cracked when I tried to get it apart.

On the Rotary Resurrection site it is stated that an "Autozone "generic splitter can be used. I have not found any source for a generic splitter today. I am hoping to have the 7 on the road this weekend and doubt Mazdatrix can ship their Vacuum Spider "kit" to me before then (over $50 jeez). I`m sure I can piece something together with multiple "tees" but it won`t be pretty. I would also be concerned about it working correctly. I don`t want my engine screwed up because I did something stupid.

Any suggestions........................ or part numbers for a generic that works right?

All you need are 3 vacuum T's.

One for the block injectors, one for the LIM injectors. One that goes from the small vacuum lines--> larger line to a vacuum source.

Try asking for a "vacuum manifold". Or, head to the local hydraulic shop. They should have a small manifold that will do the job. You can also get a stock piece from the wreckers and just replace the vacuum lines.

I may have one lying around, pm me if you are desperate.

I thought of this myself but was concerned of it working correctly. I guess in theory it should be okay.

I've asked for "manifold, splitter, gang anything I thought might help.
Not many 7s at the wreckers here or the u-pull-it. In fact any import in Detroit is looked down on. I`ve found a few 1st gens and a couple of 2nd gens (none turbo) no 3rd gens.

Thanks TehMonkay for the offer. I broke down and called a dealer, only four (dealers) in the three county area. There are 64 of the splitters available in the US dealership computer system. I ordered a couple at $12 each. I`ll have them Thursday so it looks like it will work out.

since the omp vacuum lines just suck in fresh air. Can they just vent with no lines on them? would this be a problem?

Yes, that would be unmetered air and would mess up your idle. Try this: reach around to the back of the intake manifold and pull the large feed line for the spider off. Observe your idle. Not pretty. That was for a Turbo car. For a non turbo pull the large line off the front of the dynamic chamber. Same not pretty idle results.

Using your head, you can buy vacuum tees from the auto store and make the equiv of the spider. As mentioned above.

Although it's too late for the OP, it's still worth noting...

When cruising the junkyard for parts (one of my favorite pastimes), you needn't restrict yourself to just looking at RXs. Especially for something as generic as a vacuum manifold, almost any modern car is likely to have something similar, if not identical. Could be a Toyota, could be a Ford but a manifold is a manifold and your RX won't know the difference.

its okay.. I was worried that all the nipples on the splitter block would break off, as the vacuum lines are 20 years old, but they actually came off with abit of effort! Success!!!

Those replying with offers of parts need to realize this topic is over a year old. It's likely the original poster has fixed the problem at this point.
