OMP question

I have a 88 rx7 with a 1990 motor without a Oil Metering Pump its running off 2 cycle gas I was wondering what are the advantages and disadvantages to no having an OMP hooked up its blocked off and everything the way it should be I'm just curious also havnt ran into no problems from it neither.

Thanks,
Craig

I don't think there are advantages to having both if your running premix it will be fine I run both premix and the omp if you don't mix and the omp fails there really no way to know until it's to late

There is a huge debate regarding OMP's. Technically engine oil is not the best stuff to be burned in the combustion chamber, so some modify the OMP to pump 2-cycle oil. Still it is presumed that Mazda under-drove the pump in part to comply with emissions regs. Call me paranoid, but personally I have no OMP and premix 1 oz per gallon of Idemitsu rotary premix to 93 octane.

should I run a higher octane with an N/A because right now I'm just running normal 83/84 octane with 1 oz to every gallon

No..do not run a higher octane with an N/A.
It is a waste of money,The engine is Happy really with a low octane gasoline. The "regular unleaded" that is pumped out is actually a point or so above what the engine is supposed to see,but it is FINE.
