omp pump problemo

Looking at my omp lines today n past week and it doesnt seem to be any oil coming thru them. Im sure ive seen the lines full. Do they drain or should i see oil in them always. Im guessing i should and they are clogged. The rod is hooked up and moves the piece on the pump. Looks like im going to have to premix for now. Blower but this isnt a dd so should be easy to remember once a month when i fill her up or till i block it off or rebuild it.

You should see oil in the lines.

The FSM contains a procedure to test the metering oil pump. Basically you use a set of lines with one end open to measure if it dispenses a specific amount into a shot glass over a specified period of time with the throttle in the proper position.

I've never a actually see the pump itself fail. So I'd lean towards the feed hole in the front cover being blocked, the pump being installed with silicone sealant, or other such weirdness.

But the pump is easy to rebuild if necessary.

Ok cool thanks for the info, I will be pulling it off when my waterpump comes. Is the feed hole easy to clean? Should I just be expecting some gunk there? I'll try to rebuild the omp, I saw the write up in the archive.

How To Rebuild The Metering Oil Pump

The hole would be visible once the pump is removed and should be easy to clean. Depends on what sort of gunk is in there. I've never seen one clogged though.
