OMP Error code, ohm reading is within range, what to do?

I thought my OMP was dead when I got error code 27, which is for the stepper motor if I'm not mistaken.

Anyways, I checked the connector as said in the FSM, ohmed all of them, 21 ohm, 19-23 is the range. So I swapped the connectors out, still the same thing.

I am currently out of ideas, but with the RX7 being an old car with electrical problems times 100, someone out there must have had the same problem as me, and can help out here ;)

Cheers,

Jim

I thought on an 88 the OMP was mechanical?

I would clear the ECM and see if it comes back. I'm wondering if you're seeing the start of a potential issue with the OMP...barring it is the electrical OMP.

I have S5 TII JDM engine in an S4 N/A USDM chassis.

I have reset the ECU two times, I can give it full throttle and suddenly limp mode, this is straight after resetting the ECU, so it is almost instant.

But I find it weird that the ohm readings are well within spec, actually spot on between 19 and 23, and there is oil in the injector lines as well.

One thing I have done differently from when it happened and when it didn't... that friggin kickplate over the ECU, it kinda tensions alot of wires down to the ECU, and it might have popped a certain wire going to the OMP, right? In theory...

I gotta check that fecker out!

Well, nope. But it SEEMS to me that it is better when I accelerate and turn to the right, it doesn't go into limp mode as easily then.

one question, even though the answer shouldn't be anything I'd like, might this be from lack of oil? I have enough oil I checked, but might it be? Clogged or something?

no one pointed out you need to snip the wire on the NA harness that now feeds the knock sensor on the turbo ecu ???
