the old 3800 stumble

ok, my battery was dead and i floored it, it back fired badly. I have fixed the batt. problem but the secondary injectors are not coming on now, giving me the dreaded 3800 stumble.

i am doimg the grounding(2c,2r,3a,3g) and check tps, boost sensor, aux. ports, fuses, inj. resistor pack

anyone have an idea what part would be damaged by a low voltage situation to speed things up

and oh ya i searched

thanks

One other thing you could try is to roll up the passenger side floor carpet and put a ground wire on the ECU, or at least check it with a multimeter to see what kind of resistance there is between it and the chassis ground.

One thing that really helped reduce my car's 3800 hesitation was running some fuel injector cleaner in a 1/3 full tank of gas, and driving hard enough to rev past 3800, so the secondary injectors would be spraying.

you say the secondary injectors are not coming on now? were they coming on before that happened with the battery? i need to know how bad it hesitates. if the 2ndry inj. are not coming on at all it would be really hard for your car to go over 3800. to me it feels like the car cuts out completely when you hit approx 3800. the other 3800 hesitation that occurs when the 2ndry inj come online feels like a little hiccup compared to the other one i just talked about. the later one is much more common in FCs, and it doesn't really affect the overall driveability of the car. the problem you have sounds a little more serious than that to me.

ya the car will pass 3800 if you ease it up there, but if you hammer it when it is above 3800 it spits and sputters out, it will also boost normally before 3800.

it was fine before the battery problem but something burned up because of a low voltage high current situation.

i have only grounded the 3a, 3g ecu and the boost grounds to the chassis, I still have a lot to do.

the question is what parts in the secondary control circuit is the most prone to failure due to high current?

i had to use injector cleaner a few times to get mine going good again. full tank of gas 2 bottles of cleaner and a couple hours one the freeway to keep the RPMs high and problem went away.

umm.. izanuff. how did you get that name?

somehow that guy stole my password and uses my name now.
