Ok some stupid questions on oil and oil pressure

Ok heres the story, just bought a 88 vert last monday. Drove it and paid close attention to the oil pressure in it.

I always change my own oil, but had a free coupon for the Mazda dealer, I thought what the hell , no one can screw up an oil change.

Well heres how it went, I go in to get it done, and when I leave, I notice my oil pressure is like around 50 or 60 pounds at idle, and like 90 at 3k. After a minute of idleing, it goes back to the normal 20-30 psi. I guess its ok , but it kinda scared me at 90-100 psi at 3k, when it first started after the oil change. I never seen it any higher than 70 psi. Well anyways the dildos put 5W-30 in it, I always used 20W-50 summer, 10W-40 winter or as Mazdatrix recommends in my first generation cars.

So basically my questions are:

1) does weight a viscocity affect oil pressure, and if so how?
2) And what is normally regular oil pressure in one of these?

THANX

The fsm at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com Lubrication System, page 2-5 says 3000rpm, 64-78psi. Using a mechanical gauge.

So does anyone know in what way oil weight affects oil pressure?

Thanks for the reply on the normal pressures etc... :)

Oil weight or viscosity is basically the thickness of the oil. The thicker the oil the more "resistance to flow" the oil has. I would think that the thinner 5w30 they used if anything would cause a lower oil pressure. I base this on the fact that as oil warms up and gets thinner the oil pressure will be less then at a given RPM of when it was cold.
