ok. im stumped!
ive been searching all day and cant find shit on it.
im getting CEL codes: 25,26,30,31,32,33,34,38,40, and 41 these are all the emissions solenoids that were removed when i removed emissions except for code 26 which is: OMP (step motor) i have never heard of having those codes after removing emissions and now the car is in limp mode. im guessing that the code 26 is whats making it go into limp mode. also the a/c and OMP were removed but i did keep the OMP connected so i dont know why i would get the code 26. |
and after just trying to rest the computer the codes are still there.
sounds like a S5 motor,if you remove the omp the ecu will go into limp mode.and there is no way around this.i suggest putting the omp back on the front cover.
omp system is fucked but it is still plugged in. as long as it is plugged in it *should* work fine
double check to see the OMP is connected securely. if it is and you still get the code again after resetting replace OMP and ECU at the same time. you can take a chance and swap only the the OMP but risk blowing it if the ecu wass damaged as well. safest bet is to switch both at the same time.
switched omp already. dont have money for ecu. and it is secured tightly and i cleaned it with electrical connector cleaner before i put it in.
but why in the hell are the solenoids coming up as a code? |
ok. never mind on the solenoid CEL. it just stores the codes not throwing a CEL.
so you switched the OMP and you're still getting the code after resetting the ecu? sounds like you blew another OMP because you didnt change the ECU at the same time. try and pull the ecu and look and smell for evidence of burn marks on the board yea the codes for those solenoids will still remain.
well the other omp was cracked so i think thats why that one was fucked so i dont think the computer is fucked up
check then re check the connector. it tends to fall out of its gorment.
problem found.
What was the problem? Perhaps there will be others that have this same problem and your solution/find would really help them out.
I would realy like to hear what the problem is too. I have the exact thing going on with my car. Solenoids removed and all, except I'm still using my omp. Realy dont feel like premixing. Anyway, my omp burned up and a new one is on the way and I dont feel like burning that one out too.
dont put the new omp in yet. the problem is the omp burns out and when it does it fries the ecu along with it and puts it into permanant limp mode.
Will this always happen? Anyone know what part of the ecu fries and how to check if its ok? Is this something that will be visible inside the ecu?
it doesnt always happen but it's better to be safe than sorry. i think jrat has used the same ecu without issues before after checking for evidence of a burned board. i am not sure if evidence of a burn will always be visibly present.
im pretty sure it is. there is a thread on it somewhere. i will try to find it and post a link.
ok. link found. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...&highlight=omp
