OK, I know what the 5 beeps (pause), 5 beeps (pause) indicate, but how do I fix it?
Yep, my steering sensor is out of alignment. Question is, how do I fix it? I've checked the FAQs, I've searched... All I see is an explanation of what it means, not a precise "how to fix it" answer. Anyone?

Do you have an aftermarket steering wheel or have pulled the steering wheel recently?
If so, you didn't align the guide tabs from the sensor with the two holes on the back of the steering wheel (or adapter if you are using an aftermarket wheel). |
I had the 5 beeps also. But it was from no speedsensor input for the power steering (speedo cable broke)

I'm confused: Which part is supposed to rotate on the sensor? The black part, the little metal circle? All of it? None of it?
|
Ok, I took it all the way apart... The black piece wasn't rotating very easily, but once I popped it out and put it back in, it rotated much better. I then put the rest of it back together with all the arrows lined up, took it for a drive... No beeps! Only one problem left: The turn signal doesn't return to normal after turns. How do I fix that?

And it sucks again. I think I broke off a plastic tab, and that's what's causing it to screw up. Gotta buy a replacement, I guess.
