OK Guys 4 engines in 5 months check this out
I blew my engine yesterday AGAIN... No big deal nothing badly broken just an apex seal that did not break or scratched a thing (Thank God). I found out that mu ecu is fucked up that's why so many engines in 5 months... I got the racing beat TII intake manifold, aeromotive fpr and holley marine 650 cfm. I will be doing the conversion next week, no more broken engines for me. We ran 10:8 at 14psi when our 1980 rx-7 drag car was still streetable with only a street ported 12A turbo engine with a 650cfm holley marine, T6 series turbo and Jay-Tech intake manifold... I will not be porting but I know my engine will not be breaking anymore... E6k will be the next step after the holley, I don't want to spend that kind of money with christmas coming soon....

I am so sorry to hear that :(. I'm glad your sticking with the 7.

Shit, I got my Haltech after I blew the first one.

Crappy ecu, crappy hardened cracking-flaking harness, crappy craking injector plugs, Holley/turbo it is untill I buy the E6K.

Not that I know of yet but, there are some new 3 rotors comming out soon. I've heard of a couple of 3 rotors too     |
You don't have to wait for jay-tech, racing beat has them. I got one for $210.00 here in PR.

just curious...are you putting this racing beat t2 intake manifold onto a s4 n/a? do you have to do any modifications to make it fit? or is it just plug n play?
|
My cousin gave me TII side housings he had laying around the shop.
|
[quote]I thought the turbo won't fit with the RB one [/qote] It fits but I don't know if my friend does some kinda mod to the intake manifold or just leaves it like that. I'll let you know when I close the engine and take the car to do the settings at his shop.
|
The TII intermediate housings have a different EGR port below the primary intake ports. If you're using the housing in an N/A with a header, there's nothing going to those passeges anyways because the header flange blocks the inlet to them.
I'm not sure if this would pose problems for a stock turbo exhaust manifold or not though. Might be best to just fill that portion of the block. (but you'd have to tear the motor apart to do it without bonding the rotor housings to the intermidiate housing) |
Jay tech

[B] God luck bro, I was actually contemplating the same setup BUT with a EFI carb. Too bad Jay-Tech is not saling the intake manifolds anymore :( I've got a Jay tech and am not getting good results. Whats with the EFI carb? can I use my ECU with that or do I have to buy an aftermarket ECU? I am running a Holley 650 and I want to go back to EFI. If your looking for a jay tech I'm your man but can you tell me which gets more horsepower? I am lost. |

Where can I get a stand alone EFI carb and the ECU? I have all of the stock EFI setup for my car but I am looking for the most all out horse power. Will the EFI carb make more than the turbo II EFI in the long run? How much is my Jay-Tech worth? As I said before, I am lost with this whole carb setup.

As I said before, I am lost with this whole carb setup. http://www.atkinsrotary.com/fuelinj.htm The third pic to the bottom shows a EFI carb, Atkins offers you the whole thing (first pic) or just the EFI carb or webber. There are other places that carry the items, but there's a start. A NA, no matter how much you modify it (without going 20B or higher) will not make more power than a modify T2. Carb NA (wether EFI or old school) will be faster than a stock T2 and about the same as a light modify one. Your Jay Tech manifold goes for like $200 used or so (I guess). |
I own a turbo II, sorry for not specifying. I was wondering if I can still use this EFI carb set up with my car? I went on Holley.com or Jegs.com and found an EFI carb set up but I don't know if it will work with my turbo. My car has every mod you could probably think of except for a good ignition. I am pushing around 27 lbs. of boost but its turned down because of my hard to tune carb and spark.

You may want to consider the Atkins on since, they will sell you the stan alone ECU with some base programs. Or other people here can help you with tunning issues, if you decide to go the Halltech route. IMHO, the stand alone will be easier to tune than a holley\turbo setup and you will make more power. Then again there is the tunning knowledge problem :( |
Back in the days we made 413 rwhp on a 12A when the drag car was still streetable with holley/turbo. The drag car's mechanic will be doing the settings in my car, I am lucky he's my friend.
Update: I got the Holley, intake manifold, aeromotive carb fpr 1:1 ratio. I need the blow thru adapter for the carb. and a first gen distributor. I will be using the trailing coils so if anybody needs leading coils let me know I have two sets for sale. I don't know if I will sell the 12A turbo low imp injectors (720cc) those are hard to find. |
