ok, about the 4-way vacuum splitter thing-

I broke it- all to hell. That thing was about as brittle as a crack whore. All i did was look at the the spider web, think about them 4 pesky ass crunchy lines and voila! I broke them like jedi magic!

Oh, i am talking about the 4 vacuum lines going to the oil injectors- can i use any 4-way vacuum distributor?

FCNAred 03-14-04 04:03 PM

yes, anything that splits into 4 equal lines will work

Verbal 03-14-04 04:07 PM

Lovely!! Thanks

4 way vacuum splitter

I know this is a very old post. But I am unable to post a new message since I do not have 20 posts which will be hard for me I guess. Does anywhere know where I can buy 1 of these? Is there some sort of generic one or do I need to get a replacement from maxda. Also I wasnt able to find this part #. This is the 4 way vacuum splitter underneath the throttle body by the secondary injectors. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I did find it. It is called a vacuum spider. I will post in classifieds to see if anyone has one of these.

Sorry to rouse the dead, but I'm having difficulties sourcing these things, too. There are none of these left in dealerships in the US (you'd have to import from Canada... sldkfjhasdkjfh) and Atkins Rotary says they ran out of stock and discontinued it. I would guess Mazdatrix did the same, but I didn't call them before they closed for the day.

Does anybody know what these are officially called, where to find generic replacements, and whether there are metal versions of these? I've got a T2 and have snapped 2 of these already... I'm not keen on wasting money or time breaking and looking for these brittle little mofos.

Why don't you use a vacuum block? Same thing just get the hoses and you'll be good

misterstyx69 07-09-14 09:33 PM

wow.

Same link I posted, it still works ;)

I wasn't sure if Mazdatrix still stocked the spiders, but I just called them and they do! I was convinced that I wouldn't be able to get new ones anywhere.

Anyways, thanks for the vacuum block idea, I think I'll try that. I need an extra port for a boost gauge anyways and I have one of those silicone vacuum hose kits.

I don't see why one couldn't put something together out of this stuff.

Worst case is that you could make one with 3 vacuum tees. A little ugly but will do the job. Or buy a vacuum block from your friendly local speed shop.

To split hairs, this is not a vacuum spider. It is connected to the fresh air side of the throttle body to supply atmospheric pressure to the back sides of the metering oil nozzles. So it's really an air spider.
