OK...2000+ Idle, running hot & battery very weak...?!?!?

WTF?!? I pretty much put the battery being weak on the heat of the engine. Have no clue on the idle. I assumed the water pump housing is bad & thats why the car has been running hot, thus having a weak battery. Only problem is I don't even know what the housing should look like to make it look that way it should. Car is getting to be a big hassle. I bought it to fix it up but damn. So far I have an intake and home made short shifter. Can't do my exhaust till I fix this. Come on guys please help with this one. Thanks alot.

Check your water thermovalve on the throttle body. I bet that for some reason it isn't opening all the way, causing the idle to be higher than it should be.

Mine was malfunctioning and causing my idle to be higher than it should be, so I disconnected the spring on the fast idle cam linkage. Now it can no longer adjust the idle.

Other than that, I really can't think of much that would cause your idle to be so high.

As for the battery being low, maybe it just old and needs to be replaced. While you're at it you may want to remove the alternator and have it tested to make sure it's okay.

Hope this helps. :)

OK, my battery is pretty new & the alternator is less than 2 weeks old. I don't know how to check the water thermovalve, can you give me instructions? Thanks.
