Oil Thermo Sensor
 

ANyone know where i can purchase a New Oil themro sensor. The wire on the one I have broke off.

for which motor? and type?

I have an 87 base and my dad broke the cable today. Spilled oil all over himself when he took the sensor out. He was trying to chekc the cold start system.

I know. I'm only sixteen and i got the car for free. My dad has spent upwards of $2000 on the car for me, I've been having himoreder stuff so i can replace things. i've done suspension, interior, brake, and suspension bushings. I've dropped the tranny a few times too. i've done eveyrthing with myself and a friend or him except for rebuilding the tranny.
He wants to fix the cold start system now. So i said fine.

there is no way to repair that wire? or did it break off right at the sensor?

if a N/A uses the same one as the TII I have one for ya

Sorry.....but the oil thermo sensor does ....squat. It's not worth the dime you spend on it.

Its only function was for the SUB-ZERO STARTING SYSTEM.....which a factory service bulletin recommended for removal a looooooooong time ago. About the time you were born. It's NOT for the cold start system which is another thing altogether.

My car runs just fine without it so don't worry about it!

ok, And would it be a good thing to remove the sub zero start system components? And does anyone know where I can find the factopry document taht says I should do so?
