oil pressure sending unit from black dragon

I recently bought a new oil pressure sending unit from Black Dragon and noticed that the hole on the end is double the size of all the other "factory" ones I've seen this is my 7th RX-7 and the first time I bought a brand new oil pressure sending unit, I understand that it is a different manufacture but I just want to know if anyone has used these and do they work before I put the engine back in the car or did I just get a defective one.

Thanks
Ed

Realistically the worst that should be able to happen is it would leak oil, in which case you just put a stock one back in or a plug. No big deal. The size of the hole really shouldn't make any difference anyway unless it's like <.5mm diameter, it's a pressure measuring device not a flow measuring device.

I understand the difference with flow and pressure. I just wanted to know if anyone had any problem with these before I install the engine a little easier to do with engine out no real big deal anyway I would just rather fix the problem before I did the install.

they're not that difficult to replace even with the engine in.

^^^ yeah, that was kind of what I was getting at. If you have any problems with it it's really easy to replace.

Black Dragon Auto gets their parts direct from Mazda, so it should be exactly the same as what you'd get at a dealership parts counter. I wouldn't worry about it. They may have just improved the design over the years, and now that's all that's made.

OK can we forget the fact of replacing this thing with the engine in or out like I started the post I have owned multiple RX-7 I build and maintain jet a/c I don't give a shit on getting this thing in or out. The point of the post is to see if anyone has used these and whether or not they had problems with them not the installation process. Stick to the topic of the post I didn't ask how hard it was to get the sending unit in or out I asked if anyone has used one from BD and if they had any problems. Thanks Rocket at least you gave me some information.
