Oil pooling in front pulley. Um... WHY?
 
I have oil pooling up in my front pulley...
The bolt is on tight... copper washers seem ok, what gives?
Any ideas?

Hmmm... only thing *I* can think of would be this:

Something about oil o-rings and oil getting shoved into the front cover. But can you give a few more details? E.g. where on the pulley, which specific pulley (the eccentric shaft pulley I assume?), what kind of "pooling up" you mean (since the pulley spins, I don't know exactly how it would pool... )...

Oh, and you might want to check your oil cooler lines. Perhaps they or the cooler is leaking oil and spraying it at pressure onto that pulley?

did the the bolt come loose and you tightened it back up? the key off the counter wieght could have slipped out of the counter weight and not letting you tighten it all the way down. i had to rip off the front cover install a new key, thrust bearing, and a thermal oil pellet to make mine stop leaking good luck

Are you sure the washer is not crunched anywhere? Had this problem on a buddies motor; a little piece wash crushed.

It's either a bad front main seal (black rubber ring inbetween the front hub and the front cover) or a copper crush washer that's failed or tweaked inbetween the front hub and the front hub bolt.

Very close -> the big ugly orange one is on the opposite side; it's the rear main seal and is malletted into the back of the rear stationary gear. It's about twice the diameter of the front main seal.

IF it''s inside the pulley where the bolt is.......you need to remove the bolt and washer and replace the same. This time be careful on the reinstall and take to heart what the manual says about using some sealant upon reinstallation. It's in the fsm about the sealant. I just used common black RTV. I've also used no sealant in the past and had good results. Sooo.....

It can't be the rubber seal, otherwise it would be leaking from behind the pulley, around the outside of the eshaft I beleive.
I'll pull the pulley off and check the surfaces again.

I would not pull the pulley off. Just the bolt/washer and replace the same this time using some rtv around the copper washer. You probably meant that.....I think. Yes it does not sound like the seal b/t the shaft/cover. It's coming out the wrong place for that.

Not considering the torington bearing
 
If you pull the mian bolt out you are taking the chance of having your trust bearing fall out of place and then when you go to tighten the bolt up you will smash it and mess up the Eshaft clearance bad things happen from then on. I am talking about the small flat bearing that goes between 2 spacers and has rollers all around it.

RX7blahblahblah- Thanks for the input, it's appreciated.
If you press the clutch and keep it wedged down with a stick or something, it applies sufficient pressure to the eshaft to keep it from sliding backwards at all, loosing its seat with the needle bearing.
I'll apply some ultra copper to it. Man, that stuff seals everything.
