oil metering pump delete and pd banjo mod
Can't find any write ups on how to do this. Searched google, fc3s.pro, no pistons, here, yahoo, jeeves, up my ass....didn't find anything.
Anyone willing to help out? I can see my build thread turning into a write-up fest by the time i'm done with my car due to the lack of how-to's on this forum. |
Don't do the banjo bolt mod, or you won't have a car to mod eventually. Putting the banjo bolt where the PD goes is a lazy fix for a leaking PD. It has no performance benefit and it's just asking for your car to catch fire.

So just replace the pd? K then. Thanks. I'd cry if my rx7 burned down. CRY! It's been saving my life for the past 2 and a half months.....keeping me sane and straight.
Any info on the OMP delete then? I've got stuff to make a block off plate so that's a non issue. A nice step by step would be nice. I pulled one of these off before but it was really fast just to get the motor gone and i didn't care if i messed up anything in the process. Holla. I dont want to screw my car up! I wouldn't ask questions if i knew everything. |
I believe on an S4 it is just a remove and block off type of scenario (with a block off plate). I am not sure though, as I do not own an S4.

A banjo bolt in the fuel rail won't cause the car to catch on fire. A leaking PD causes fires, and the banjo bolt mod is the cheap solution to that problem.
|
you can put short bolts in the OMP banjo holes. for the fuel rail you can snag a second banjo off another fc fuel rail or you can use a dremel and make a small bevel then bolt on a second s4 FPR.

Read this before you put a banjo bolt in there. Bottom section on mods...

Banjo bolt mod FTW... anyone who says otherwise is just a fear mongering idiot...

removing omp on the s4
1. unbolt omp, lines, injectors 2. put light coat of silicone on the omp blockoff and bolt it on 3. put 2 stroke in the gas time (1oz per gallon) 4. Enjoy pd bolt mod 1. unbolt old pd 2. put in the new bolt 3. Enjoy |
/\ +1 and watch around the omp block off plate to make sure you are not leaking oil after a drive.

I've have the omp blocked off on my s5 t2. I was told to just keep the omp plugged in and just stick it in the engine bay some where (while plugged in). My car now goes into limp mode and tells me the omp is bad. How do i fix this? is there anyway to jump the wires or hook up some sort of relay so that i dont have to have this useless piece in my engine bay?

On the S4: simply buy the block off kit from banzai, remove the omp and all the lines, injectors, amd vacuum lines. Then, but the black OIL RESISTANT silicone on the plate, then block the top vacuum port on the plenum, put the Allen bolts in the injection ports, enjoy. Be sure to run a TC-W30 two stroke and follow the specific pre mix directions on the back. Idemistu is the best product since its rotary specific.

Don't be cheap. Go to Mazdatrix and order an OMP blockoff plate and gasket. Should be under $20 and will NOT leak. Just buy a used PD. I've owned 5 FCs, never replaced a PD and no fires...

it's easier to just put short bolts in the OMP the same size and pitch of the OMP banjos versus oozing a bunch of RTV into the OMP innards and possibly causing problems in there.
or better yet the blockoff plate as mentioned. and it's still funny to see people scared of the banjo bolt mod, Aaron wrote that like a decade ago and i doubt even he could still consider it to be "unsafe" for the fuel system. i've eliminated PDs for about as long as i've been working on these cars and never seen a fuel system issue related to its omission. even a brand new pulsation dampener from mazda is likely about as old as your car is, being "new" means nothing to me on these cars any longer. very few parts are actually still produced, items like the PDs are just new old stock stuff that is probably at least 20 years old. |
