oil lines...clean?
just realized that the oil lines I replaced during my rebuild still look like new...no oil running through them???... these are the clear rigid hoses which run from the oil injectors to the oil metering pump... I can only see the top two hoses but they are definately clear....
have you checked to make sure the arm that activates the OPM is connected and that it moves properly under throttle and is not inhibited by anything?
I have been told that the oil can be pulled back out of the lines by gravit when the engine is not running.Do you run pre-mix? If your motor was not getting oil it would die quick! How many miles since the install of the engine.I had my intake off not to long ago and believe it or not the lines were clear,"ie" no oil in the line.the engine is still running.
new lines look clear even with oil running through them...But still check to see that oil is flowing through them.
Ive pulled up on it by hand but, I havent noticed if it opens when pushing the throttle. is it only with WOT or should it open WITH the throttle?
the engine has about 160 miles on it so it should be getting oil obviously...
the oil pressure gauge (which was broken before...grounded...spiked straight up) is now somewhat working... it sets around the 0 when the car startsand gets about 1/8 of the way up when the throttle is pressed... i dont understand... |
im pretty sure it opens with the throttle...but at WOT it should also be fully extended. but if its connected more than likley it is working as it is supposed to
160 miles or 160kmiles
ive just been playing with the throttlebody.. pull the throttle open but the lever dosent move with it...
i dont know what its supposed to be connected with..
so when you pull on the throttle cable the lever doesnt move at all??
I know if i dont say this someone else will, block off the OMP, i didnt want to at all (didnt like the idea of mixing my gas) but ive seen comparisons and belive me its the healtiest thing that you can do for your engine. Takes out all the scare in your OMP

i agree with that statement^^

Again, I suspect your Oil Injectors are pooped. You should perform the one-way blow procedure on the Oil Injectors as Instructed by the FSM If you are going to get In there. I really think they are dead. :)
i agree with silverrotor, i bet the oil injectors are dead. maybe not DEAD, but the air bleed could be stuck open or something in the oil injector stuck letting air get sucked in. this could be letting gravity just pull the oil back down out of the lines when sitting, replacing it with air so they look nice and clean.

I just replaced my oil cooler lines with some rb ones and i havvent had problems since. www.fcstore.com
unfortunately NOT what we are talking about.
lol yeah man we're talking about the OMP lines, not the oil COOLER lines. :)
hahahaha^^

It was an additional reason why I ditched the MOP System and I went premixing. If I remember correctly on my NA, 1 of the 4 Oil Injectors were working after I Installed the OEM Lines. 2 weeks later, just the one line was golden. You should either adjust the MOP Rod according to the FSM, replace the Oil Injectors or block It off and go pre-mix. sorry but what is premixing? |
Lotsa (mostly repetitive) Info here. :) https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=premix
