So i'm on my first oil change, with about 500 miles left. When I first filled, I ran it to fill the filter and topped it off. I did a lot of joy riding on the first 1000 miles, and lo and behold I had to add a quart at that point. Since then it's all just bin commuting to work and my oil level hasn't changed since. Should I be worried? 1500 miles and not a drop burned...

easy test...pull you EGI fuse and crank it for a good 15 seconds then put the fusse back and fire it up! big cloud of smoke = GOOD no cloud = :(

Oil useage is entirely based on throttle postion on S3 and S4 RX-7s and load dependent on later models.

If you did a lot of hard driving it will use oil more than if you just cruise.

yeah, on my way to work, I rarely shift past 4k. Would this account?

So, on a calm-driven commute, which is a daily thing of course, is there no oil injected at all? I got so used to reading about s5's I guess I just assumed too universally, and presumed my s4 would be the same.

Should I take into hard consideration running premix?
Would premix be a bad idea if I don't remove the injection?
What would be the best premix to use?

not really driving the car if you don't run the engine past 4K. Pretty bad for your motor as well. Rotary engines are designed to be used through their whole rev band and run better if they are.

There is always some oil injected. Regardless of if you are driving like my grandmother.

Pre-mix would not be recommended at all for you. The stock oil system us more than enough for driving like you say you do, and pre-mix with the stock oiling system would probably lead to more deposits than you already have.

I have ran My stock Sec Gen N/A after changing the Oil, approximately Three Months.I just Topped the Oil up on it(took a "litre").The Mileage Driven is roughly 2000 KM.According to the Maintenance Info,That's Normal.So I'm pleased as punch.Not bad for an Insurance write-off!

Did I read that right? Four quarts?? Isn't that all what they hold?

I'll keep that in mind. But my question on that would be, how much should I expect that to degrade my gas-mileage?

6.1 quarts dry fill, 5 quarts normal oil change.

He couldn't have run down to two quarts... he is exaggerating.

It will lower your gas mileage, but not bad, depending. I drive like a grandma around town, but redline at least once a day. Usually 1st/2nd.

If you go out to some twisties or something and "stretch it's legs", then yes, your gas mileage will suck. But, just high revving a few times a day won't make a huge difference.
