Oil Leak

Ok i ran my car a bit the other night. The floor was spotless as a dirty concrete floor can be. This morning I went in to mess with my fuses and found a large puddle of oil under the car. A large section of the front crossmember (i think its called) was wet but i dont see any broken or lose lines. So i put a large piece of white cardboard under the car and check the oil. Oil was filled. I just went down to check the cardboard and it only has 3 or 4 very widely spaced drops, probably still dripping form the crossmember. I tried to run it again but my battery doesnt hold a charge and i didnt feel like moving another car there to jump her. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

probably one of your oil cooler lines. I have a nasty oil leak too.

welcome to the club. my oil cooler lines are leaking as well.

Yep same here, they're saturated in dirt and oil.

Maybe its your omp? that was one of the main sources for my oil leaks..

Too many things it can be, bad front seal, OMP lines, oil pan, oil drain plug loose, oil cooler lines, oil cooler itself, etc. Best bet is to clean the whole thing up, and then keep an eye on the spot that it comes back in first.

OK, ill give that a try. It only seems to leak when the car is running if that helps.

That would generally indicate it leaks from a source under pressure, this would mean that it's not a leak from the oil pan, generally the oil lines/filter pedistal are the areas that it'd be from in this case, or anywhere along the oil cooler (rocks can tear a hole in it)

most leaks only occur when the engine is running, if it is a new occurence then i would look closely at your oil cooler lines and their connections, that is the highest pressure point and most likely place an oil leak will turn up overnight with an FC.

Sounds like the problems I've had with mine for a while. My problem turned out to be oil cooler lines. If you start the car and look down the engine bay while revving it you may see where the leak is coming from. Mine was a bit worse than yours though, I could probably be brought up on oil spill charges or something. Lost a full load of oil in 10 minutes on a public road.

Side note, I got the corksport replacement set, 130 shipped. Nice set, easy to put on mostly but took 2 weeks give or take a day or two to get here. If you order you might want to pay for 2 day or something.

EDIT: the bad hoses on mine looked fine other than dirt and oil so don't go with just a visual inspection while it's turned off. Look closely at them while it's running.
