Oil injetor removal (PLUGS)
I am gonna pre-mix on my s-4 engine. Just wondering if anyone sells plugs to plug the holes where the oil injectors used to be. I havent been able to find the right size bolt. The head always seems to hit something when trying to tighten it.

Bolts are the way to go. I don't remember the exact size I used, but basically found a nut that would work on the injectors, then took the nut to the hardware store to find a bolt to fit it. I ended up having to cut off a bit of the length of the bolt (clean up the threads!!), but other than that, I don't think I did anything else other than use some thread sealant and tightened it down. If the bolt head is hitting something, see if you can find a smaller bolt head. You could always go w/ a threaded plug if you can find the right size. Plug that doesn't have a head, just a hole in the end for an allen wrench I mean.
Worse comes to worse, you could probably grind of a bit of the block material that is getting in the way -- I have a feeling you mean the little 'tab' that sticks up from the block -- you should be able to shave enough off to turn your bolt if you can't find anything else. Obviously grind the right thing if you choose to do that!! |
i did like trav got the bolt and cut off a majority of it i only needed like .5in of threads

Yup, the "square tab" part that comes off of the rotor housings is what I am reffering to where the bolt head is hitting. This is on a tII motor and I think I have the same problem with the bolt head hitting the lower intake manifold. Right now I have the bolts tightened Using the stock Spacer type things that have the tube sticking out where the oil lines once attatched. Don't know if this would cause a vacume leak or not. I did use thread sealant on the bolts. I don't like it this way and would like to change it. A plug using an allen wrench head would be sweet.
