OK, i can officially declare myself as a complete moron... an hopeless untterly stupid moron...

was working on the car today... trying to pull the condensor and swap in a new one... when i undid the evap line and i hear a slight hiss... ok... screw this...

put everything back on... AND boom close the hood.

Guess what? i forgot to reattach the hood release cable back on...

Now i can't open my hood.

i have searched and found the following methods.

1.) pry it open and get something to trigger the release (3rd gen method)

2.) prop car up and reach in with broom stick and trigger latch. (1st gen method)


that is it.

is there a 2nd gen method..

DON'T LAUGH.. this is not funny!

Id jack up the car and do the broom method, sounds like the least destructive,

Im sorry! I kinda chuckled.... Sounds like the dumb stuff I do all the time...

I dont know how to do that on your car though..

whoa.. I didnt' know you had to remove it to do that.. um.. I'd just go from the underside, there's ways to do it, jack the sucker up and remove the underpanel (but beware.. the bolts WILL snap, they're usually rusted as crap.. my underbody is held on by zip ties :) )

Haha i'm sorry man ... but after the day ive had thats just hillarious :) I would try to jackit up first... if that doesnt work ... fuk it. Sell the car to me cheap & i'll fix it :)

It's easy to do. Simply reach up throught the front grill and feel around until you get to the latch. Once you feel the mechanism, it should be fairly obvious what you need to do.
