Offset and tire width help

I just bought some 16x8 42mm offset rims for my fc. I am still on stock suspension. I was planning on 205/55/16 and 245/45/16, will I need spacers? Would a 225 fit up front without rubbing? I'm going for the yokohama avs e100s if that helps..

Do some measurements (hub to inside of fender) and use the following definitions:

Well after I did all the math on Ted's site I found this:
http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html

So I might need a 5mm spacer up front?
But whats strange is I have 225s up there right now that are the same size as some of my 235s and they don't hit the strut, they do rub on the fender when bounces down on a turn....

My suggestion is to make sure your suspension isn't old and "soggy". I have the almost the identical wheel setup. I have 16x8's with ES100s. The original offset for the wheels i have are 43. I'm fairly small as to compared to my friends. basically if you mount everything, the "thing" that comes closest to hitting something is the inside lip of the wheel on the spring perch. I thought that the tire would hit something because the tire bulges outward not so. Remember the perch were the spring sits on is wider then the spring itself. unless you get some funky tire size i suppose it'll hit. anyway, the amount of room i had between the rim and spring perch is my pinky finger up to the first joint.

It's personal really. i didn't feel comfortable being that close so i took ted's suggestion and bought the 5mm spacers. so 43-5 = 38. at the same point, i can get my pinky down to about 1/2 way. as a mental note, 5mm is about 4 dimes stacked.

if you have a busted or old suspension, you will hit the lip of the fender. i'm the 5th owner of the car and i think the car was on it's 2nd suspension with 160k - everything was worn out. i ended up pulling paint off of the fender lip and bending it outwards. i replaced everything and it raised the car up a little, but i still take potholes/craters and driveways a little slower.

i have pictures posted in the suspension section if you need a visual reference

If you stick with a 205 you'll be fine. 225 will rub a tad bit.... Need 5mmm spacer? I have 2.. come on over
