Which Octane
Hey i was wondering what gas octane u guys run in your cars. Let me know what kind of 7 and if u have mods or stock. THanx

i'm sure if you do a search, you'll find plenty on octane...i use 87 in my 91 n/a. i've read that the chamber of the rotary is naturally resistant to preignition (something about the turbulence in there). i could be wrong, i'm just repeating what someone else wrote.

I would go higher than 87, mid grade is best.
I usually run 91 in my 87 n/a, mostly because I had a problem a year ago right after I got the car because I made the mistake of putting 85 in it(winterblend no less). I learned my lesson after having to drain a full tank in the parking garage just to start the car.
We get screwed around here though, all the gas stations in town have 91, 87, and 85. Damn Colorado... |
For n/a, lowest octane is the best. I have heard of guys runnin 65 octane in a n/a before!! For TII.....Higher octane is better. If you can find it, 110 octane is the BEST. That is what they get in Japan, and that is how street cars over there can handle soooooooooooo much boost.
I run the highest I can find in my TII...usually 93.
Is it color change 93 octane race fuel??? Or is it just handsome with cheese..
Sorry, I had to;) |
Turbo+ mods High Octane!
yeah, us NA guys need to run the lowest octane we can because we aren't running the kind of compression that necessitate using a high octane fuel.
I tried 93 octane for a while, but I am now back to 87 octane. I love how cheap N/A's are to own!!;)
yeah, i only use 87. Mostly because it's the cheapest. BUt! But, the 93 here is like BLING BLING, and it doens't even to anything
run 87 in a N/A.
91 in a TII. N/A's dont need any higher octane. They actually work WORSE under higher octane (YES this is true, do a SEARCH for octanes on the forum, i have made this post before, so have fc3s.org *sigh* ;)) |
