nt555r2 on fc specifically
 

hey everyone,

long time no post... i posted in the fc forum cause i want to know specific fc owners opinion.. anyone ever use the nitto nt555r2? i have the nt555 now in the rear, but of course i am waaay bored of drag racing and am setting up my beast for the road coarse.. the nt555 are awsome.. "AWSOME" drag tires, the nt555r2 is basically same tire with stiff side walls, who has used them, and are they as good as im expecting them to be?

that and other tire recomendations for road coarse are welcome! please and thanks

ps.. had to boast a bit, stock jspec t2 3" back ehaust with a whalbro and cone filter No emissions no ps, premix, tb mod (all the free stuff). i hit consecutive 13.3s all weekend with 2.2 60Ft's (horrible Driving i know).. does that sound about right? i thought it seemed fast for my lack of mods.. all 107-108 MPH.. 89 base w/rebuilt j-spec and very minimal porting..

the falken RT 615 is pretty good and not that expensive no experience with the others sorry

im sure whatever is hot on the tracks is.. going to be good on the seven.

Road course - Falken RT615s are gonna be cheapest, but they tend to go away when they get hot. Take a look at the Bridgestone RE-01R if you wanna spend a bit more money. The only nitto track tire worth anything is the NT01, and expect to shell out some change for those.

Anyway.

The new BGF-R1 track tires are awesome. I have a set of 225/50-16 front and 245/45-16 rear, I just did Summit Point on them a few weeks ago. Once I got the feel of them and started driving like I meant it I was catching all sorts of cars in my HPDE 3 group. I've been doing this for years though, so YMMV.

Truth be told, if you're just getting into track schools your best bet is some high quality street tires. Awesome track tires will shave seconds off your lap times, but will also hide your mistakes and make learning slower at first. One of my best learning experiences ever was with a POS bone stock Pontiac Grand Am, rented from the helpful folks at Avis when my own car was in the shop but I had already paid the entry fee and didn't want to miss out.

Do you have the stock radiator? Stock temperature gauge? Don't even think of taking that beast onto a road course until both have been remedied.

FMIC = Problems on road course?? if so V mount can be done.. but obviously lots of work..
